How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

False advertisement about heating in the room, there isn’t. Staff didn’t have any english feel this should be mentioned on the page. Found a few hairs in our bedding
Loved the location. The bathrooms were clean. Let us leave our luggage there

Located in the heart of Madrid, just a short walk from a historic city, a 3-minute walk from the metro station. Clean place, comfortable beds. Staff friendly, but not all of them spoke any other language than Spanish, which made communication difficult. Very small room, with 2 beds, small window, but private bathroom was a plus. As we stayed, there was 40 degrees. No access to any balcony or terrace was a downside, but it's hostel, not a hotel, so I suppose it was better than many other hostels I've seen. To give it a credit, i must admit that it was a huge humidifier in the room instead of AC, which made the condition a bit better and cooler. If you don't need any luxury, just simply some place to sleep at night, it's a good place for you.

Very well located. Metro station a few meters away. Lots of shops and cafes nearby. A very cleaned property. The only thing is that the lift was broken and the hostel is in the 5th floor.

I was in a room for three with two beds but I think that the space is very small for two beds and we couldn’t unpack because we didn’t have space for move us

I think the staff should at least know basic English.
The location is perfect, you are in the center of Madrid. I like that there is 3 shared bathrooms and they were all spotless and regularly cleaned.

The rooms are not very soundproof, I recommend to bring earplugs. No clima, just a fan.
Bathrooms are new and clean. Close to the city centre and train station. Good price.

the room window had a view on the one of the bathrooms, so you could see someone’s sillhouette having a shower 😁 the room was small but it had all essentials.
the room was clean, it had a tv, a sink and a small closet. the location is perfect, you could walk to all major city points, but the metro station is 20m away as well.

The room was very small and cramped. Most of the TV channels didn't really work properly. There was zero noise cancellation and we went to bed early since we have two children. The guests that came in later at night were quite loud talking in the hallway and there was a lot more noise in the hallway since the bathrooms are shared. We definitely didn't enjoy the shared bathroom situation.
Check in, check out were super simple and the place was clean.

Female's stuff doesn't speak English, bit unfriendly. Bad isolation between the rooms, can hear clearly what the person in the room next speaks.
Very good location, clean, tv in the room, exellent wifi. Elevator.

Close to Sol, with small but comfortable rooms, well-functioning heating, elevator. The 5 rooms have 3 clean bathrooms, which are constantly kept clean by the 24/7 staff. The reception is kind and helpful.

The pillows were not very comfortable (too tight in our opinion), but we easily replaced them with our own, made from our soft clothes.
The location is central but not in the "hot place". 200 m till metro Tirso de Molina. There are very helpful personal 24/7. The shared bathrooms are very clear, with no problems with access (sufficient number of bathrooms). There are many sockets for charging gadgets in the room. Maybe we are so lucky, but during our 11-night stay it was very quiet, and we slept very well.
