Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had room 208 which is on the front of the hotel overlooking a street which is fine during the day but the come night-time bars open and you will not sleep!! We arrived back at the hotel at 11pm, didn't sleep until 5.30am because of the noise coming from the street!!! No wonder this room had two sets of earplugs provided which were discovered in the morning
The hotel is in a good location, clean modern rooms. Nice little bar and coffee room for drinks, pool table for a bit of fun and I think there was a small kitchen on the ground floor for you to cook or prepare your own food

United KingdomVery noisy if you are on the street side of the hotel, there were people our chatting on the street until gone 6am (i think there is a club opposite or nearby and it was a Friday) the hotel room did have ear plugs which did help.
Location was great, general decor and style of the hotel was good and as shown in the pictures.

SpainI didnt like the small space in the room and linen didnt smell fresh, rather the opposite. In the morning i wanted to make my breakfast and coffee and lady in the kitchen was preparing something for a group and told me if i am not part of the group i cant use the kitchen at this moment. The guy at the reception let me do my breakfast but she was not happy about it and rude waiting for me to finish fast so she can close the door, and i had to eat outside the kitchen.
The hostel's location is good. Everything is within walking distance, including shops and restaurants. The staff was the best there, very kind and very helpful. The common spaces are good.

AustriaIt has a few major flaws. The biggest one of all is that there are no curtains or anything to close off the cubicles... total lack of privacy. Second, the electric outlets are right next to the pillow (assuming you're sleeping with the pillow on the side that is harder to see from outside for privacy, since there are no curtains), so the charger hits your face (I've attached a photo). Third is that the stairs to go up the bunk beds are super loud and squeaky. Fourth is that the bathroom has no lock and no place to put your towel/clothes while you shower. One would think anyone designing the room would immediately see the problem: where do I keep my clothes? And my towel? Unless you want to go outside to undress and get your towel (which is unlocked so anyone can go inside at any time!!) and anyone can see you naked, forget showering. They don't even have a hook attached to the wall (which would cost them 2€ per room) to help a little with the situation. The bedsheets are quite warm so I would usually sleep without them. Problem: there are no curtains, so unless I want 5 other people staring at my legs and underwear, I have to endure the heat. It has the potential to be nearly perfect... if it had nice curtains, (which would also fix the electrical outlet problem), non squeaky stairs, and a lock in the bathroom or somewhere to hang your clothes that doesn't get wet.
Reception is nice, room itself looks modern and clean.

NetherlandsThere were no curtains or something like that for the beds, would have been nice for some privacy. And I didn't appreciate that the toilet & shower are only within the dorm rooms, no additional bathrooms are available outside of the dorms.
The common areas and dorm rooms were kept very clean. The beds were comfortable and staff was friendly. Location of the hostel was great as well, very central and everything can be reached by foot.

GermanyThere are no curtains - these days, all (nice) hostels have curtains so guests can enjoy a bit more privacy. Since there was no female dorm (left?) I booked a regular one and I was put in one room with 5 men (that had never happened to me before and normally the hostel tries to mix it with females/males). In the morning, I woke up and basically had to look at the butts of 5 men (it was really hot and apparently, most preferred to sleep almost naked with no sheet). There aren’t even hooks etc to put on an own curtain, reason enough not to book again. Unfortunately, because otherwise it seems to be a nice hostel. Minor thing: at the reception I was told buses to Marbella go from the harbor close by and there isn’t a need to go to the big bus station - turned out to be wrong information.
Great location, beautiful design and friendly staff. It also seems to have been renovated recently.

United KingdomOn the Friday, given a price of €57 to extend my stay for one night on the Monday. On the Monday told price of bed was now double that, because it was 1. the last bed, 2 it was the Feria. I was told the best offer was €99 for a bed in a x 4 person room. I declined. 12 hours later I’m notified via Booking that the same bed is available for circa €65. The naked greed creates a bad impression. No “my word is my bond” in terms of price, simply price gouging on the fly. No one was prepared to pay a ridiculous €99 to share a room with 3 other people. I was in the bed already, prepared to pay €57 to stay, but TOC wanted to earn a few more euros….Was an additional €8 (assuming the bed was even taken) worth it? Distasteful

Netherlands1) Better cleaning service in the rooms is needed. 2) Drunk people were allowed in the hostel reserving a bed for just 4 hours, making an insane amount of noise and messing up everyone's sleep in the room. Felt unsafe.
Breakfast was okay. Not a lot of options, and the breakfast room is doubling as a commercial coffee shop. So there's a rush getting people out of there when the clock hits 11:00.
