Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandLighting in the bures takes a bit to figure out. There's a lot of switches and it's quite dim. But if that's all I have to complain about, it really shows how good this resort is!
As snorkelers, we weren't sure if we'd fit in at a dive resort, however, our concerns were completely unfounded. Heading out on the dive boat in the mornings and exploring the reef with a guide (while the divers explored other deeper parts of the reef) was exactly the experience we were hoping for. From the moment we checked in, we knew we were somewhere different to any other resort we'd stayed at. First and foremost, the staff are what make Taveuni Dive Resort so special. HIGHLY recommend the meal plan as the food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented (besides, there's no kitchen in the bures, so cooking your own food is nigh impossible... and why would you want to!?). Speaking of bures, although no air conditioning, the dual fans were sufficient to keep us cool on the hot nights. Windows are all protected with mesh, so no issues with bugs. The shower was great (best in the afternoon when water is hottest). The king (maybe super king) bed was really comfortable. It was quite a novelty for us to have a turndown service! Starlink WiFi Internet is fast, but limited to the restaurant area. Cellphone reception is present, but patchy and slow data rates. For location, the resort is only a 15min boat ride from the reef. It's a 1.5hr drive to Lavena (one way) over some very rough dirt roads (the sealed sections are a blessing). The dive/snorkel outings are half day activities, so it's possible to do something else in the afternoon. The pool was great afterwards! Breakfast was selected the night before (at dinner) and had a good range to choose from. The breakfasts were excellent (as was all the food!). All meals are served at the restaurant. The staff catered for gluten free (banana bread was so good). Coffee, tea and filtered water was complimentary (dairy, soy and almond milk was available). Packed lunches can also be booked the night before to pick up at breakfast if heading out for the day.

AustraliaIt is a beautiful resort and the bures are really clean and comfortable. The food is wonderful. For us the highlights were the wonderful staff who were so warm and welcoming and the amazing snorkelling and diving experiences. The dive team are just brilliant, caring and meticulous in their attention to safety while showing us the wonders of the rainbow reef.

United KingdomAlthough told about a 3% surcharge on credit card transactions didn't realise this would apply to the whole cost, not just the extras. Think there should be a note on the booking.com website to say that a 3% surcharge will apply to the quoted price.
Lovely resort, staff so friendly and welcoming. Diving was good- good staff on the boats and very well looked after. Food was lovely, room very comfortable and quiet. Good shower and lovely bathroom products supplied. Massage also very good. A very nice peaceful and friendly place to stay. would happily return.

United StatesPayment for all the costs of the stay was literally done minutes prior to our scheduled departure to the airport. There was no time to analyze the charges. Often the food was not tasty. For me, the boats, which are fine for most people, were inadequate because I have back issues. The platforms are so tiny that forward roll-ins from them are cumbersome.
Terrific rooms, exceptionally clean, friendly helpful staff. Dive master ratio was excellent. - often only one or two divers to a dive master. Even the canines were friendly.

SwitzerlandAnti-slip mat in a bathroom was mouldy and reused between tourists . Floors of the room didn’t seem to be cleaned regularly . We had to ask for heating for hot water quite often when solar panel wasn’t enough to supply power . The owner didn’t want to show us how to switch on the heater so we had to rely on asking him every time . Overall there were few minor things , but staff was making a lot of effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Lovely diving resort where we have had the best food ever . The local is staff is very nice, friendly and helpful and they are a true asset of this resort . We loved the variety of food , fresh vegetables, fish and mainly artistic creations of cook in terms of flavours and decorations ,5 stars top experience . Room was cleaned daily . Bed was comfortable and we have had a very good sleep . There were optional activities such as husking of coconuts or kawa ceremony which were very interesting. We also had a massage which was great . Ambiance was nice and facilitated connection with other tourists at the resort . It was possible to organise paid trips to waterfall and pearl farm . Snorkelling in a house-reef was also very nice (black sand and sometimes it’s good to dive below 0.5m for a better visibility ) . Diving was beautiful with a large variety of colourful corals. We appreciated a complimentary transport from and to the airport . In summary we loved our holiday here.

As we went for the diving, the location was so close to where we headed off each day. The set up was beautiful and I liked that there are only 8 Bures so not over tan with people

New ZealandWe wanted a isolated place blocked away all of buzzy from noisy world, and enjoy a relaxed vacation. This is a ideal choice. We usually go snorkelling in the morning which you can see the most beautiful corals and myriad fish. In the afternoon, we hanged around pool, laid on the chair, read and listened music. The food are delicious. The staff and owner’ couple are nice and took good care of us.

All go out of their way to ensure your holiday is wonderful. Food very good. I went out on snorkelling trip 4 times whilst my friend dove. Absolutely spectacular. We also did a couple of excursions outside of the resort.
