Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Belgium- The bathroom was not immediately adjacent to the room. - The bread in the morning was not the tasty French bread I was expecting, but toasted bread. - A good and thorough clean would have been a good idea. The corners were quite dusty and we found some spiderwebs behind the curtains.
- Very friendly host. - Spacious room. - Super quiet at night. I slept like a rose.

United KingdomKettle in room. Croissant or fresh bread
Breakfast was ok, just yogurt toast and jam. Woukd have liked fresh bread or a croissant and a kettle in the Tom as we were travelling since the day before. It was late whe we arrived and would have liked a hot drink.

FranceThere really isn’t much around. Was a 15 minute drive to the next town to get food. But again, great if you just want some quiet time.
The owner was very sweet and accommodating. He put the fire on for us, and was happy to chat and have a glass of wine with us. Which made us feel right at home. Also, he has an adorable cat that loves a cuddle.

NetherlandsWe were on our way back to Holland and this was a fantastic stay over! Really special
The house is from 1225 and restored by the owner in a fantastic way. To eat or shop you have to go to the next town which is a 15 minutes drive.

United StatesI didn't know that the bathroom was separate from the room and my wife felt a little strange about that.
The host was very nice and polite despite how little French we spoke. He was very welcoming even though we showed up very late after accidentally going to the wrong address. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the house and its connection with the Templars and the church next door.

NetherlandsBreakfast could use some better bread (not the sweetened factory bread/toast provided) and some more diverse spreads (not just sugary stuff). Also some fruit, yoghurt would be nice. Pizza for dinner is not the greatest, in the style of Dr. Oetker frozen pizzas. No sink/water in the room, and the shared bathroom is quite far away and does not have a separate toilet.
Location is great for travel on/from your way to the south of France. Nice and quiet village. Big garden with a friendly cat. Also liked the pool table for entertainment purposes (one of the balls is broken though). Friendly owner.

United KingdomWe booked this property at the last minute en route from Spain through France to the UK. The light was fading fast and it was raining. The property was very difficult to find and could benefit from outside lighting or some kind of signage. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and the owner offered nothing to drink either paid or unpaid. I'm sorry to say that hospitality was seriously lacking. Breakfast would have been served at 8.30 which is too late for us as travellers needing to get back on the road.
It was very quiet.

NetherlandsDuring our trip to the south of France we stayed one night at the Ancienne Maison des Templiers. We were surprised by its charme. The advertisement doesn’t transmit the warm welcoming feeling that we experienced during our stay. Phillipe was calm, easygoing and always at our service. We met a few other guests in the courtyard and it was very cosy. It was beautiful to mingle a little bit, but also to have the space to have a moment for yourself. We had a calm night, totally darkness. And an easy morning before departure. We could make use of the kitchen in the communal room, which we were grateful for! Thank you for the lovely stay, Phillipe! We wish many travellers will find your cosy place!

NetherlandsThe downside to this accommodation might be that there is not much to do around it, but if you are on the road like us, that doesn't matter. If you don't like animals, you should say this in advance (parrot and cat). We loved them.
What a wonderful place to stay! We were on the road and booked last minute. We received a message that the room was ready for us and when we arrived, we got a drink from the host. He made sure we had everything we needed. The room was nice, New York themed, and the shared bathroom and toilet were very clean and spacious. The garden had enough space to sit or lay down and there is a quite big, heated pool! (We didn't use). The included breakfast (offered from 8.30) was very nice. Pancakes, toast etc. We had a great one night stay and would definitely recommend this place!
