How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Difficult to park in the vicinity.
Little gem and splendid comfortable rooms with the additional benefit of a garden. Clean and staff friendly and welcoming.

For the money what's not to like? If I had to be picky I would say having to rent a towel for €3.50 would be the only very minor negative.
The receptionist at this hostel was excellent, pleasant, helpful and her English was 100 times better than my French. Traveling on a motorbike means a lot of clobber to hump around but even after checkout I was allowed to leave my stuff in a locker so I could explore beautiful Bordeaux. Room was upgraded to a 4 bed dorm from an 8 and was warm and comfortable. I was lucky that I hardly heard my fellow inmates and I hope they didn't hear me lol 🙈 Parking was on street anchored to a barrier but it all was fine Breakfast for €7.50 was also good value Location was fab, close to centre but quiet 👍

Skimpy breakfast but good coffee. The bunks were extremely awkward and resembled cages with holes for breathing. They offered little if any privacy and light showed in and out which was annoying.
Cleanliness, security, ambiance, courtyard, dining and lounge area. News on TV. Good toilet and shower facilities.

Bathroom facilities in the room was the only luxury missing.
I don't know what other rooms were like, but the 4 bed dorm was excellently arranged for privacy and comfort. A lockable decent capacity locker space was also provided under the bed.

The reception and food service ladies, Anna and her Russian colleague (I'm sorry I cannot remember her name), were both super. Very friendly and attentive, including being solicitous toward me as I hobbled around the place on a sore knee (after too much walking). The rooms were clean, and the beds comfortable.

Equipment is new, room is very spacious, bed has a lot of privacy, shower is excellent. Staff is super helpful. Nothing to complain will surely come back!

The property was amazingly clean and private. The staff were welcoming and even got a free upgraded room. Highly recommended this place

Everything was wonderful. The beds offered top tier privacy and comfort, and the bathroom was always impeccable. Common areas were spacious and the staff was friendly and welcoming. This is not a party hostel. I loved it but it might not be the best option if you’re trying to meet new people.

Not much. Given that it is a hostel, you do have to trust your fellow dorm users to some extent and you have to make an effort to respect a shared space.
Helpful and friendly staff, very clean, relaxed atmosphere, logically laid out and someone at the reception 24/7

I wish the train station was a little closer to the hostel and center. So, I would move the train station.
The people working there were very friendly. I extended my stay because I needed to get things done online. The wifi and working areas were very nice and great for spending hours at. I could order a coffee, glass of wine, or food when I needed to continue with my computer. This included international calls that I needed to make. Location was between the center and the train station. A bit of a walk but this is Bordeaux.

No shampoo or generic shower supplies.
I stayed in the dormitory. The building was modern and clean. The staff was kind. I liked the optional dinner: the price was appropiate considering the quantity and low considering the quality. My general opinion was good.

Most hostels have at least some soap to shower, I think it is a very basic thing to provide, so that could be added.
It is very modern, good facilities! The bed doors give a good sense of privacy.

It's situated a 20, minute walk from the main railway station.
This is a relaxed place with good facilities and friendly and helpful staff.

There was not a lot activities in the hostel (that for sure depends what kind of hostel one looks for).
Very friendly staff, beds were comfortably and as similar like boxes you had your private space in a dorm. The common area with a garden and bar is very nice

The breakfast could have had a bit more of variety of bread and salty things. But for the price was quite good…
The bed is really comfortable and allows you to rest properly keeping your privacy.
