Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGood: Very convenient location in Paris. Bad: 6 floors with 2 rooms per floor with single toilets on alternate floors and 1 shower on the ground floor. Good: Friendly staff. Poor: Movement operated lighting in steep twisting staircase kept going off if you move slowly like a pensioner, me.

SwitzerlandIt‘s the kind if place where you have to leave ur roomkey at the reception when going out and the hotel literally closes at 1:30, not only the reception! You will not be able to get into the hotel after 1:30!! We almost didn‘t make the curfew and they were not willing to compromise on the phone to wait 5 more minutes. Toilet and Shower is shared, in the room is a sink.
Very central, not bad for the price.

HungaryAt the end of the day, it was what we could afford during the Olympics, so no complaints. But for anyone else thinking of coming, be aware of the following. This is one of those traditional style Paris hotels that hasn't changed in decades. A steep winding staircase leading to 2 rooms on each floor with barely enough room to swing a cat. During the summer, it is very difficult to sleep. There is no a/c or a fan, so you have to keep the window open and the street outside is awash with crackheads and ladies of the night who seem to enjoy partying until the early hours of the morning, so bring earplugs. There is also only one shower available for the whole hotel, which is on the ground floor. There are 2 toilets, one of the ground floor and one on the 2nd floor. They do not have sinks in them, but there are sinks in the rooms. There is also a 1.30am curfew, which means you have to be back at the hotel by then, or you will be locked out until 6am.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly with a great sense of humour. It was an affordable price. It is reasonably central with easy transport options.

NetherlandsThe walls are quite thin, so if you are unlucky with your neighbors it might cost you some sleep. The building and facilities are old but I guess that is to be expected giving this price.
It's a cheap place in central Paris.

IrelandThe shared bathroom does not have a sink, so if you use the toilet on the way out, you'd have to go back to your room to wash your hands.
The location was very convenient. We bought the 3 day tourist pass and could travel on the metro and buses as much as we wanted. There were both stops very close by. The owner was nice.

EgyptRoom and Amenities: The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, I was disappointed that there were no facilities to make tea or have a boiler or kettle in the room. As someone who enjoys drinking tea, this was a significant inconvenience, and having to go out every time I wanted a cup really affected my mood during the trip. Bathroom Facilities: One of the biggest drawbacks was the bathroom setup. I had to go downstairs one floor to take a shower, which was not ideal. Additionally, the shared toilet facilities, which were clearly stated in the hotel's description, were not comfortable in reality. There was only one toilet on the ground floor and one on the second floor, shared by many users, which was inconvenient.
I recently stayed at Hotel D'Orleans in Paris and had a mixed experience. Location: The hotel's location is fantastic, just a few meters from the Strasbourg metro station, making it very convenient to get around the city. There are also many restaurants nearby, which was a great plus. Staff: The staff were nice and friendly, which I appreciated.

United KingdomThe location is great. Short walk from Gare du Nord and just off a lively boulevard with many restaurants and shops. Only a short walk to the centre of Paris. The staff were pleasant, the room was clean and secure. It's not the kind of hotel to bring a family or for your romantic weekend in Paris. But if you just need somewhere to sleep for a night near the station for this price it's more than enough. It's comparable with many other hotels in this area and around Kings Cross St Pancras in London. I knew what I was getting and was completely satisfied.

PeruCarry up my own luggage.
The room was french classy old decor. A lot of hot water at the bathroom, good heat, big old closet for storage, small badroom in the bedroom. The guest will be the one who carries up their own luggage and also, get it down when you leave. The towels and bed sheets where clean but not new; but was fine. The best: location, location: the metro (Strasbourg saint-Denis station) was a few steps. Also, a lot of grocery stores, cafés, bistrós, and the asian restaurat near by was awesome.

CanadaWe knew what we were buying and didn't expect a Marriott for the price.
It was exactly as described. Small room, small private toilet and shower, narrow stairs (one flight), all manageable. Beside metros, grocery stores, foody district, (don't miss Julien bistro, 1/2 block away) 15 min easy walk to Gare du Nord. It's true that lock the front door at 1:30 AM, opens again at 6:45, but stayed open all night on New Years Eve :-) Ask for fresh towels, toilet paper, corkscrew if you need it.

The reception staff was very polite and courteous. He provided towels and soap and instructions to locate the toilets (2 for the entire building) and bath (1 for the entire building & open only during 8am -10pm) The room was spacious and had a sink in one of the corners. Free wifi works - no issues there.. The heating was very poor to the extent of inexistence. Other than this it was a silent space to spend the night for a day Or two in Paris
