Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilIt is an Ibis budget. We can not expect too much. It is a basic hotel, with a confortable bed, good heating, very small space, very small bathroom. The staff was very friendly and correct. However some instalations in the room where I stayed was bad. - the worst case was the sanitary thad had signals that the former guest was not very clean and the sanitary was not correctly higienitized (photo in annex) - there is only one power outlet near the bed (we were 2 people in the room) - there is only one ilumination spot in the room. To turn it off I have to go to the entrance of the room, switch off and walk back to the bed in thee dark (I used my mobile's flashlight) - there is 2 appliances that seemed to be lights but they were not working

NorwayPerfect location if you're arriving in or travelling from Lyon via the train station Part Dieu. Also very close to the metro. Friendly staff and modern rooms, if a little worn in places. Being so close to the train station, it was a bit noisy to sleep with the windows open. But all in all, good value for money.

France1. Poor signage outside hotel: it’s extremely easy to confuse it with the two neighbouring Ibis Styles or Mercure hotels. 2. Counter-intuitive procedure for elevator access with magnetic room card. 3. Breakfast catering only provides small water glasses for eating cereal. Egg-boiler stipulates cooking times, but there is no available timer. Butter stored in a relatively inaccessible refrigerated box.
Convenient access to local and inter-city transport. Useful breakfast.

United KingdomSome shampoo/soap in the shower - although maybe there was some I can’t quite remember Rooms were too warm and the windows should be allowed to open a lot further! A guest needs greater control over their room temperature because it can be hard to sleep in a room that is too stuffy and warm.
Rooms were clean and functional. Tv was a good size. But the best thing was how it is literally next to the train station. Perfect for us as we went onward to Bourg St. Maurice the next day. Well connected to old town too. Perfect for an overnight stay.

United KingdomCoffee, better options at breakfast. Not having the shower next to the bed.
The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and powerful but the shower and sink were in the bedroom giving it a bed sit vibe. Breakfast, which I would not have taken had it not been included, was basic. I could not even find butter for the bread. I visited during Sirha and paid more than €200 for the room - I've stayed in better hotels for much less than €100 in the past. Breakfast opens early. Having access to water in reception.

ReunionThe shower functioned well and there was plenty of hot water, but the water wasn't draining very well. I told the desk assistant about this problem when I checked out.
I stayed one night before taking the train the following morning. The train station was really closeby, so it was very practical for me to get there on foot. I really liked the room, it seemed quite new. It was also very quiet. You couldn't hear the noise outside.

United KingdomHaving a hair drier in each room would be helpful.
The room had everything we needed and we expected from an Ibis budget. The room was clean. The personnel was very helpful and there were multiple common facilities which were helpful. The location was very close to the train station and public transports.

IsraelThe sound insulation is beyond any other hotel. One of our rooms was facing the street and the other the train station. We never heard any outside sounds in either! Breakfast was excellent, including fruit salad, yogurt and fresh apples, regular milk and soy milk, amongst other things - thoughtful towards a variety of people.

RussiaStrange room layout. I think there was no economy having the shower cabin door directly in the room.
The location is very convenient for people arriving by train, spend a night and depart to the airport. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Australiaroom was adequate but a tad stark
Convenient location very near the Part-Dieu railway station but with more research I would have probably selected a hotel near the other Lyon station as I was joining a river cruise on the Rhone. However, alighting at Part-Dieu enabled ne to become familiar with the station for my subsequent rail trip from Marseilles north.
