Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. UgandaThe host did not provide guidance to the residence or any other instructions on the day of Arrival, even after trying several times to call and contact the host on the day of Arrival, It was getting late and the weather was terrible. I was forced to seek an alternative and stayed at a different hotel. It is unfortunate that I lost my money even after not using the service.

TanzaniaInformation on how to locate the key was not shared on time as such the first day I was stack and forced to book a hotel as i did not locate the key until the second day. This was a very bad experience. Sharing of toilet was something which I didn't like
The facilities were on average okay, good and accommodative. I also liked the location of the facility as it was very much conducive and reachable. The supply of wifi in the room was superb and strong all the time

BulgariaMy worst hotel experience so far. When we arrived (6:00 PM), we found an unlocked and dirty room - it was untidy with used bed sheets, a dirty jacket was left on the chair, a used napkin was lying on the desk. Towels were not provided, and there wasn’t any hand soap in the bathroom or kitchen. Not to mention, the shared bathroom was not cleaned for a long time. The toilet paper was barely 1/10 roll for presumably six people accommodated in the apartment, and there wasn’t any spare toilet paper. We tried contacting the host immediately, but they didn’t answer the calls and messages. After one hour of trying, we were not sure if they would call back that evening, and we found a public laundry and washed the bed sheets (THANK GOD, there were some laundries with dryers still open at that time). We also waisted a package of antibacterial handkerchiefs to clean the surfaces in the room as it was dusty and there was hair everywhere. After wasting four precious hours washing, cleaning, and trying to get to Homey, we made the room suitable for sleeping. The host called at 11:00 AM the next morning just to hear all the things I texted them the previous day with no solution provided and just a promise to check our complaint. They called later when I was unable to answer, and I texted them, but they didn’t reply again. However, on the third day, they offered a refund for the cleaning, and by the end of the day, they reconsidered their offer and asked if they could come to clean the room in our absence. ON THE THIRD DAY! I refused, and the next morning, we moved to another hotel, though we had two more paid nights there. I had an important job to do in the region and didn’t have time to solve a problem the host didn’t want to solve. The comparatively low price of the accommodation wasn’t worth the additional wasted money, time, energy, and nerves. Mistakes happen, but this host (Homey) didn’t do anything to help us in that terrible and confusing situation they put us in.

SlovakiaThey do not give you any information how to acces the appartment and when you arrived they ask for deposit for one night 250EUR!!!! and sign 15pages contract what you need to read properly otherwhise if you do someting wrong they can charge you from your deposit!!! And they do not give you money back when you do cancellation!!!!
