Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe hotel had no hot water 3 out of the 4 nights we were there and no compensation offered.
Good location, not too far from anything. Smaller hotel, but our room was very large with two beds in two seperate sections which we loved.

United StatesRooms kinda lacked wall sockets. The bathroom barely had any hot water, my wife really suffered taking showers here. Toilets were clean but could use a deeper wash. Rooms felt very cold, I wasn't too happy about that. Playing around with the heater didn't seam to do anything.
Really kind staff, big smiles and friendly attitudes. Rooms felt fancy, beds were big and bathrooms had soap and very clean towels. The location is really nice. Just a short walk from the metro and a beautiful view of the tower. Windows came with classic paris shutters, which really added to the authentic feel of the place.

MexicoNot much room to walk around the entrance. Sound proofing is weak, you can hear other rooms, in fact I was woken up much earlier than I planned to. No idea what the people upstairs were doing.
Staff was very nice. Room had just about what's needed for one person. Lots of facilities although I didn't try any, I just used the hotel as a place to sleep.

NetherlandsHotel was partly under construction, so bit messy. Weak wifi. No international channels on tv. Spartan style furnishings. Fairly pricy for what you get.
Pretty relaxed hotel and sizeable room for paris standards. Decent breakfast and friendly staff. Good beds and bathroom.

GreeceThe property could pay more attention to details like stains on curtains and armchairs. Addressing these would really enhance the otherwise positive experience
I liked the quiet and safe location. The room was pretty big compare to what I could expect from Paris 😄 The staff was very kind and helpful.

United StatesPaying 14euro for breakfast where you have to cook your own eggs is pretty ridiculous. I never ate breakfast once. My toddler ate a few pieces of cereal one morning and they charged me for breakfast. Just beyond ridiculous!!!!

OmanThe size of room was small ..
Everything was amazing.. The stay was very comfortable and the place was clean and quiet. You can walk to groceries, cafes and restaurants, as well as the Eiffel Tower. The services are excellent and the cleanliness is as well. But the space is very narrow, as it is not possible for 3 people to take the elevator? Or two people with a suitcase! Therefore, do not be shocked.. Even the area of the room is small and not enough to open the bags!!

ItalyI travel a lot and understand check in times, generally in better hotels if you arrive early they will do the best they can to give you the room earlier. Not here. The receptionist made it very clear check in at 14. Ok I went for a walk and came back at 13.45 and asked if I could check in. No. So I sat in the breakfast room while she chatted away to someone she knew in the table in front on me, I asked again at 13.50. No answer just an irritated look back. At 14 on the dot I interrupted her conversation and said it is 14.00 I would like to check in now, her response 'I'll have to check if the room is ready'. She could have done that BEFORE 14.00. Of course it was ready it was probably ready a long time before 14. That was enough to make me not want to stay there again. They also need to check the lights, the only downlight in the room wasn't working. While the room is slightly larger than you find in a 3 star in Paris (503 could be an exception) the bathroom compensates by being miniscule, if there are two of you and you close the door there is not much room to move but hey, the shower at least is large.
The hotel was a 5 min walk from where I was doing business in Paris that day and the reason for the choice. The hotel is pleasant enough, the room adequate, comfortable. I had a 5th floor room overlooking the street so plenty of light and no noise from the street. I didn't have breakfast as I prefer to go to the local cafes.

United StatesThe room was small (but this is not unexpected in European cities) and the walls are thin so you will hear people coming in and out. But everything was very clean, neat and well-designed to make use of the space!
This is a great location if you are watching the French Open. The metro which goes straight to Roland Garros is only a 5 min walk away. The bathroom seemed to have been recently redone and the staff were very friendly.

AustraliaHotel is fine - set expectations around 2.5 stars (some rooms are deffo 3 stars... like my colleagues) and you will be happy. You are paying for location. Quiet road - I had windows fully open all night - no issue with sleep. No issue with noise from other rooms. Its clean - great showers. Great staff - super friendly. Has quirks - but get what you pay for.
