Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLoved my stay at this hostel! I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm for 4 nights, and it was super clean and comfortable. The room had an ensuite washroom plus a shared one on the floor, both spotless, with hair dryers available (thank you!!!) The staff were friendly and even provided me with a free towel. The common area was great, and the location was great too—just a short tram ride to downtown. I felt very safe. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Dominican RepublicEverything was good!
I stayed for 4 days and had a great stay. The room, bathrooms, and common area downstairs were always cleaned and the staff was friendly. There isn’t a kitchen but they do have a microwave and utensils you can use so at least you can heat up some food. The location was also nice and despite there being a bar right outside, it was always pretty quiet in the room. The hostel is in a good location near the tram, cité du vin, and many other places

United KingdomThe location is bit far from the city centre. It is not expensive maybe that's why it has very basic facilities. It is not suitable for families. Maybe for backpackers and young people who need to socialise!! The toilets and showers are on the corridor, they were disgusting especially the toilets!! We had to clean them before to sue them!! We refused to use the shower as we only stayed for one night. We washed our faces and brushed our teeth. I would not come back!! As I mentioned earlier, it is not a place for families!
There is nothing I can say I liked! It has a nice terrace. It was a good experience for our child. He was able to see what a backpacker hotel is like!! We left very early in the morning so we did not have breakfast.

United KingdomIt’s dirty. You have to put covers, as in pillow case cover, bed sheets and duvet covers yourself (never encountered that before). It’s quite cramped. Again, dusty.
Literally nothing apart from the friendly staffs.

MoroccoThe rooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly, as there are a lot of mosquitoes. Having only one bathroom per floor for all the rooms, with four people per room, is not good. Also, there's no air conditioning in the rooms, which makes it uncomfortable.

SwitzerlandI think my bad experience was mainly because of the extreme heat. There was no AC, it was 40°C and extremely hot at night. The bed sheets were waterproof and not breathable, so they were kind of moist bc of the sweat at night which was very uncomfortable. Also, no kitchen (only a microwave, bowls, cutlery) and it was not easy to meet people there.
Friendly staff, big sitting/chilling area, good vibe in general. The beds are sturdy and there are curtains. The bathroom is only shared with the people in your room, not with everybody.

FranceIt was unfortunate that I had to leave so soon and couldn't spend more time with the staff :D I would have loved to meet them under different circumstances.
I recently stayed at Whoo Hostel in Bordeaux during a work trip, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly and professional staff, who made check-in a breeze. The facilities at this hostel are top-notch, providing everything a traveler could need, whether you're here for business or leisure. There's a laundry room and an ironing board, good wifi, air conditioning on the ground floor (it was 41 degrees in Bordeaux during my stay !) The atmosphere at Whoo Hostel is truly unique – a great balance of vibrant energy and relaxed comfort. The communal areas are beautifully designed, offering enough space to work in the coworking room, unwind on the sofas, and socialize on the terrace. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable, which was essential for my work needs, and I found the workspace to be both comfortable and conducive to productivity. My dorm was spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail in every aspect of the hostel, from the cozy bedding to the thoughtful amenities provided - like the little shelf to put your phone and glasses beside the bed. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and all the main attractions of Bordeaux. I hopped on a tram from St Jean train station and was at the hostel in no time. One of the highlights of my stay was the social atmosphere. Even though I was traveling for work, I felt a strong sense of community among the guests, and the hostel's events made it easy to connect with fellow travelers. It's clear that the team at Whoo Hostel has put a lot of effort into creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. They spend time getting to know each and every guest, joking, laughing, listening. They're really great fun.

United KingdomIt's primarily a residential building- hostel is an afterthought. No kitchen , laundry overly complicated (ok for residents but not travelers). Staff aren't as helpful or friendly as other places I've stayed. No atmosphere either. The ladders to the upper bunk are too small & downright dangerous, I fell whilst climbing down because there's nothing to hold onto.
It's easy to find when getting there. Rooms are clean and I liked that the shower room & toilet are separate, and in a separate area. Breakfast was ok but the fruit they served every morning was inedible and the same rotten apples and one orange for my whole weeks' stay. This place would have been great for a couple of nights - not a week like I booked.

BelgiumThe only thing I did not like (almost hated) was the noisy gaming machine that is located in the common area. Why such a disturbing machine in a cozy area like that (????)
I loved my stay in the hostel. The common areas are very spacious and comfortable. WIFI works very well so it is fantastic for those who work and travel. I really appreciated to have a laundry area
