Keith couldn’t have been more helpful - he helped me with a late out-of-hours check-in, and was kind enough to take care of my bag after I checked out, so I could enjoy the rest of the day in Hastings. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, quiet and had everything I needed… the bed was comfortable, a compact en-suite, plenty of electric sockets for charging my many devices, WiFi that works, and a kettle for my morning cuppa. The location is right on the seafront (I could open my window and see the sea), and only 10 minutes walk from the train station. There are plenty of places to eat nearby.

Perfect location on the seafront and close to the new town centre. The room was comfortable and quiet at night. I was upgraded from a single to a double room. The hotel proprietors were friendly and helpful.

My main suggestion would be to warn guest of accessibility for room 10. I am nearly 70 and still on the mend from fairly recent triple heart bypass surgery. I found the stairs hard going especially the last flight up to the garret room which were steep, narrow and twisting and lacked lighting. I was ready to collapse on my arrival by the time I got to my door. I think I would have severely struggled to try and get a medium to large case up those stairs. I think there should be a warning to prospective guests that this room is unsuitable for older or infirm guests. Other than that my room was perfectly fine with everything I needed .

Hotel in a prime beach front setting. I don't know how many rooms enjoyed the magnificent views that were on offer? Mine was a view of urban decay and or rebuilding? Staff were very friendly and engaging. Breakfast was well cooked and prompt every day and perfectly adequate though the choice was very basic.

Location perfect for visit to White Rock Theatre. Bathroom looked recently refurbished. Quiet room even at Halloween. Charming and efficient receptionist.

Only one complaint is that the walls a super thin so at night you hear neighbours tv's, coughs , sneezes etc. All fine if everyone is tucked up and respectful. We had one night where the room next door blarred TV till 3am and so was awful. Fortunately, they checked out and our next days were perfect.

A small and clean place right on the beach and good walking distance from both Old Town and New Town. Self check in was made very simple and communicated well. The room large, view great, and bathroom is clean and modern. Lovely having a room big enough to unpack and store luggage.

Not much can be done in an older hotel, but there was a bit of noise from the adjoining room.

Alexanders is on the seafront of Hastings. It is within easy (though hilly) walk of the train/bus station. It is situated between the peer and the old town. I had made a request for a room with a bath and a very friendly staff member had specially given me one. She also arranged for me to self-check-in, which was extremely useful and appreciated. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Glad to have stayed there. Hastings was a good base for visiting towns along the coast such as Rye.

The tv did not work atall which is a downside for us. As we like to watch tv before we go to bed and in the morning. The lady got it to work when she turned it on, but then it stopped. also 3 flights of stairs was hard going as I am Asthmatic.

Some traffic noise which might bother a light sleeper. No lift - wasn't a problem for us but could be for others (our room was on 3rd floor). Room was hot after a day's sunshine (it's south facing)

Comfortable bed, great view over the sea, friendly staff, no noise from other guests; quite private. Despite what the website says, there is cheap on-street parking very close by.

The room could have been slightly bigger and a wardrobe in the room. The window could have a bar for safety across the window.
