Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing I did not like was the fact that we could only stay one night. Otherwise I would not change a thing.
The location of the property is picturesque with views of beautiful countryside. The actual accommodation was fantastic with a high ceilings and a large lounge area with big windows to enable views to the countryside outside. The mixture of stone walls and wood was very effective, complemented by lovely fittings and furnishings. Our bedroom was well furnished and shared a spacious, modern bathroom with another room, which was not occupied when we stayed.

Beautiful property in a stunning location. The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. Deborah was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast was fabulous - we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day! We would highly recommend.

United KingdomNothing to dislike but you do need a car.
The hosts were absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the views from inside and out are spectacular. If your looking for a quiet relaxing stay this is most definitely the place to go. Superb. The breakfast was delicious with a good range. It was a delight to meet Debbie and Phil who are hoping to a few themed breaks which after leaving my email we look forward to hearing about.

United KingdomI really didn't like the hard mattress in my room as I like a soft mattress, so didn't sleep well as a result of that . Maybe needs a thinker topper on the mattress 🤔
Me and my friend liked the fact we had a games room to play darts, pool table and there was also a bar to grab a drink 🍸. The house was very chilled with beautiful views and lovely places to sit and read or play some board games . The Host Deborah was very nice and couldn't do enough for you she was chatty and very attentive .absolutely beautiful home stunning house and grounds definitely will visit again soon. Thankyou for a beautiful stay!

United KingdomIt was a little tricky to find, but once I had spoken to the owner, then it was very clear.
Very friendly host and breakfast gave plenty of choice and Debbie made it at a time that really suited us. Great facilities in the room itself. It is part of the main house but you have a key to go as you please.

United KingdomWe have absolutely no complaints. Perfect stay, in the most beautiful home with a dream host !
We chose this property via booking.com due to attending a wedding nearby. It was booked purely based on location; we struck absolute gold - I haven now read back the previous reviews and can not disagree with any of them. Booth house is absolutely stunning, the most beautiful home in a picture setting! We were blown away by the living area. We had an immaculate double room with private shower, views of the most beautiful scenery and an extremely comfortable bed! Debbie is the perfect host; so welcoming. We added breakfast on when we arrived and are so glad that we did - highlight of our stay ! Above and beyond and just an absolute dream. A place picked for location has become somewhere we will be visiting again - with no plans other than to relax in a beautiful room , enjoy the peace and have the most incredible breakfast ! Thank you x

United KingdomDebbie was a fantastic host from start to finish on our last minute weekend getaway with the kids., She catered to our every need from the pre-arrival phone call to help with directions and check travel conditions up to cooking a gorgeous banquet of a breakfast to order the following morning. The room had plenty of space for us all with the kids on camp beds and a lovely private bathroom. We were lucky to be the only guests so had the communal space to ourselves which the kids loved playing in and we really enjoyed using the honesty bar and cinema screen room in the evening once the kids were asleep. It was superbly located for visiting Skipton and surrounding areas and the location and views were lovely despite the weather. We are already looking to return in the new year and rent the full space with extended family.

United KingdomNothing. (worth noting the heating is underfloor so you can't adjust the temperature in your room, which could possibly be an issue in very cold weather.)
Very beautiful property, enormous room and fantastic welcome from the host. Breakfast was magnificent (paid extra). Good shower, coffee maker etc. Even gave us a lift back to our car after a good night out in Barlick. Recommended places to eat and made us feel very welcome
