Breakfast. When I made the booking I rang up to check my coeliac daughter would be catered for and I was assured she would be. Equally, when we checked in I asked again about breakfast for my daughter and was advised the hotel has lots of gluten free people passing through the doors. Come breakfast time we found out that this was not the case. The lady working in the breakfast area was very helpful and went to double check with the kitchen but all that could be provided was gluten free bread. We explained the seriousness of her being coeliac and the risks of cross contamination and she really did do her best to find out for us. However at 6 years old, my daughter really did need something more substantial than some gluten free bread. Luckily we had the foresight to bring food for her but I find it frustrating when we have paid for breakfast for her, especially after being told she can be catered for that there really was no comparison on offer to the rest of the breakfast available for everyone else. I would suggest some further training for staff on dietary requirements as other people in this situation may not have brought food with them. We travelled from Essex and would have been quite disappointed had we needed to go out hunting for food for her.

The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable . The room was clean and the shower worked well.

We would have preferred a queen bed, double too small, we are used to a king bed.

The staff were lovely, great location for us visiting family, the room was spacious and clean.

Poor service. Had to hunt down bar staff. Also having to pay for everything up front was a nightmare. No restaurant facilities for breakfast or dinner was a pain fair enough it was due to circumstances beyond their control. Grateful that they phoned us so we could make alternative arrangements. Didn’t like being phoned up and accused of taking missing throw that was never in our room.

Some traffic noise as the hotel is next to a busy main road.

I have stayed here before. Ample parking. Nice welcome at reception. The room was spacious, warm and comfortable - it was freezing weather at the time. I forgot to ask for a room away from the busy main road so there was some traffic noise although this quietened at night and did not disturb me. I did not eat at the restaurant.

All good except the shower was designed to be easily switchable between standard and rain forest nozzles. But the switch didn’t work.

During a very cold spell the sizeable room was warm on arrival and throughout my stay. The bed was comfortable. Free parking close to the room in the motel style property.
