How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Kids said sofa bed not the comfiest but it is what it is(a sofa bed)
Location was great for us,had everything we needed in the room,main bed was very comfy(better than mine at home)

Perfect location for sandcastle, pleasure beach and south pier. Host is really lovely and accommodating. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Beautiful sea view from the front rooms. Would return.

No heating and due to weather and going to pleasure beach was very cold. When asked about heating they said it was on which I turned the radiators on and they stayed cold. No one available downstairs when messaged had no responses

We were greeted very warmly by our fantastic host Pete. He was very welcoming and helpful. He showed us to our room which had a lovely sea view, it was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect as we had booked the water park for our daughter's birthday the following morning. My daughter had mentioned that it was her birthday the following day and we had gone out for a few hours in the evening, when we returned we found a chocolate cake at our room door with a knife and napkins, such a lovely touch! The following morning we returned from breakfast to Pete on reception ready to sing Happy Birthday to her (of course we joined in) she felt very special and it really topped off an excellent stay, we will be back!

The location of this hotel is perfect, directly opposite south pier. The room was lovely and clean. And the guy who owns it couldn't do enough for us

Room was bigger enough for a family of 5 including a baby. Lovely view from the room to look out at the beach. Kids loved the view.

The location was brilliant right in the middle of everything. Pete was very welcoming! He even went to the trouble to buy my daughter a birthday card and cake! The rooms are lovely and warm. Was perfect for a weekend stay we definitely be back.

The communication from the host prior to arrival. The personal service showing us to our room. Explaining everything to us. Also provided a book detailing essential information. Breastfast was available. Tea and coffee in the room. The room was warm all evening. Perfect location, next to the viking and few steps to the witherspoon

Double bed has broken slats but we spoke to Pete and he said it will be fixed so no issue Illuminations outside very noisy until midnight but not hotel's fault, recommend bringing earplugs

This is by far the best property we have stayed in at Blackpool. We come to Blackpool every year and we’ve never found somewhere that we would happily book again but we have definitely found one now. Pete was so welcoming and lovely.

I forgot to order breakfast before 9pm on the night before which was my fault!
Very good hotel, located perfectly!… large smart tv in room, modern shower room, warm, suprisingly quiet being on the sea front…. Pete the manager absolutely fantastic. Will definitely return!!!

Double bed was a little wobbly, a little more attention to cleaning would have made cleanliness perfect instead of standard.
Great location right opposite south pier and a tram stop. Large room on ground floor with plenty of space. Beds were made up on arrival with crisp clean white bedding, food selection of tea and coffee provided with facilities. Manager was very welcoming
