The rooms although very spacious were very outdated decor wise

Very clean hotel with a great restaurant

Our door was wide open when we came back from the event we booked the wedding for, as it was ground floor anyone could have gone in and taken our belongings. We shut the door but not sure whether someone went in and opened it or if the open fire exit blew it open but it made us worry and is the reason we would unfortunately not stay again.

Restaurant and bar was lovely, staff in there were amazing.

The hotel is dated, smelly in areas, particularly between reception and bar. Beds uncomfortable and allot of thick dust on bathroom extraction.

Location ideal for ripple valley visit. Lovely breakfast.

Lovely hotel. Room was amazing. Artisan restaurant- dinner was delicious ! Hotel staff very friendly. Value for money for our short trip to see family.

The Sunday lunch service was disorganised and I had to keep asking where things were which I had requested. On my last morning, I was left alone in the dining room with staff clearing off to get their own breakfast before I was finished and although I would have liked another cup of tea, I couldn't have one. When checking out, reception was deserted and I coughed loudly to get attention. The receptionist appeared eventually, eating a slice of toast. I was somewhat surprised to be charged £7.50 for a slice of toast and a cup of tea each day, £30 in all!!

I liked my spacious room and country views.

The moment you went through the doors from reception to the bedrooms the ambience of the hotel faded. Our room (a suite)was spacious but very tired and quite grubby, the shower especially. Such a let down after a good first impression .

The exterior looked lovely. The bar and restaurant area looked very nice.

Thick dust was visible on bathroom skirting boards and dirty marks on the tiles 2 single beds had been joined together to make a double, which is understandable but there was a raised lump where they had been connected, which resulted in an uncomfortable night's sleep.

Arrived late for check in after wedding nearby, had arrived earlier in the day to leave luggage, which had been taken to room ready for us.

Restaurant turned us away saying fully booked. We had travelled from work and there was no place near by to grab a quick bite before our party. Would expect there would always be room for Guests

Beds fit for skip- extremely uncomfortable. End up trying to sleep on sofas but they werent much better. Cobwebs everywhere. Black mould in shower. Room very dated

The decor was slightly dated.

Lovely location and staff all really friendly. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday and had a gorgeous meal. Also, the breakfast was amazing. Hotel itself was spotlessly clean.

Rooms need a huge refresh! Very smelly throughout the hotel side, the lights turned off randomly in the room - seems like it needs a rewire. Dirty fixtures and furnishings, bathroom hadn’t been adequately cleaned for us. Both my wife and I struggled to sleep in the bed, it was like a slab of concrete. No plug sockets near the bed, no TV remote and was almost impossible to get the very old TV to work on the unit. Fire Alarm test at 7:55am on Saturday morning - mental! The restaurant appears to be separate to the hotel, and is advertised this way. The food was excellent, the staff were nice, but the place was disorganised and staff kept apologising for this - without us prompting. Would never stay here again.

The rooms were seriously dated and needed a significant revamp. On the night of our stay there was a disco event on throughout the hotel until 2am the music was so loud we were unable to sleep. We were not informed this was happening when we booked our stay. We told the hotel staff the morning after we were unable to sleep and we were not made aware of the event and they responded with “well you booked through booking.com so it’s not our fault you weren’t told”. I’ve never been more disappointed. And to add insult to injury another group who told the staff the same thing got a full refund purely because they booked through the hotel!!! Won’t be staying here again.

The hotel is beautiful nice lovely room with sitting area and bedroom separate lovely bathroom with shower and a separate bath nice litte patio area to sit and enjoy the quiet do peaceful the breakfast was lovely and also a cold buffet aswell overall a brilliant hotel and really enjoyed my stay did take a video of the room but can't upload it on here so a picture of the fountain outside main reception breakfast and nice little seating area out the back near our room

The cleanliness - lots of cobwebs in the bathroom and numerous spiders in the corners of the room where it hadn’t been dusted properly. Mattresses was worn to the point my partner could feel the springs when she was sleeping. However, I didn’t have this issue in my side of the bed.

The bed was uncomfortable and the decor and furnishings were very dated and worn. Hotel needs renovation, looks like it hasn't been updated for a few decades. Staff were fine, not great but not rude.
