Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPods are dark with no daylight coming in when shut - makes it too easy to sleep in for someone used to having light in the morning so best to have an alarm clock set!
Clean and comfortable, everything that was needed was there, including fancy soap / shower gel and hairdryers. Nice to have easy code access to get inside even late at night when travel is delayed. Pleasant, quiet space downstairs to sit and read or get work done in the mornings and evenings.

location was superb, place was really clean and everything was sorted. code was given for entering the property and the room which was very convenient. wifi was fast and stable. bathrooms were very clean.

Very comfortable kitchen where you can find all you need. Even though there was no reception, the staff was very helpful (through the app). Very comfortable showers with a lot of space for your dry clothes. Easy check-in and check-out. Clean.

IrelandThe dorm was quite cramped for 3 (and there were only two of us). It was a bit stuffy too.
Very well located, and the pods were very comfortable and private. Despite what other reviewers said, I barely heard any noise from the pub, or empty bottles being unloaded etc. The bed was nice and soft and plenty of USB points. Lockers were good size for 10kg bags. Kitchen was nice and clean.

The service was fantastic. I came in quite late and because it was the Fringe festival, there was a bit of chaos. I called the reception number and they very quickly guided me and sorted me out. They were wonderfully kind and responsive.

AustraliaOne of the USB charging plugs in my pod did not work. Very little air flow in the pods made for some very balmy nights during this hot summer. A small fan to move the air around would be great.
Great location, ear plugs provided was a nice touch. Full kitchen with everything you could need. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pods are comfy, clean and have good, solid stairs.

United Kingdom- During the heatwave (err one of them), the pods felt like ovens - moreso with the curtains closed. Not much circulation due to the windows not being able to fully open. There weren't any fans either, so that first night was really difficult. We kept waking up and having to take cold showers throughout the night. I requested fans (via email/phone because there isn't an on-site reception) on the second day of our stay and was able to borrow (with a deposit) 3 USB fans for the pods. This made a big difference for us, but the rooms were still hot. - The ladders to get to the top bunks are awkward - more strategically-placed bars to help get up/down? - The bathrooms, whilst communal, consisted of only 2 shower cubicles and 1 toilet. This was for our floor, anyway, so I'm not sure if this is the case for every floor. But for 8 people, there were times where we had to wait for the toilet/shower to be free (some people are more mindful than others with what they leave behind for the next person). On the plus side, there were shower gel/shampoo dispensers and plenty of TP. - The doors are very heavy so they slam closed. Also some of them get caught on grooves in the floor and stay open! Be careful of that. We came back to our door open on our last day (having requested fans)... nothing lost, fortunately. - The Internet was very patchy during our stay - which is a big issue when travelling. - There could be more of a sitting area, working area, cooking area, downstairs in the communal room (and outlets/condiments). - There wasn't a reception on site. - It was a long walk in a heatwave to Quinn's :P
- The location was ideal. Right off Princes Street (plenty of food options - try Stack and Still for breakfast!), which connects to Calton Hill as well as Old Town (try @pizza, Wings!) via an uphill road along Princes St Gardens. - There was a kitchen/seating area that was much cooler than the rooms (during a heatwave). There was also a first aid box that was readily available when we needed it. - The communal shower cubicles actually had a section to leave your stuff without it getting wet/also a space for you to dry off/change in after a shower. A curtain gave you privacy behind a frosted door to your cubicle. - The room itself came with a double bed on the top accessible by strangely-placed ladders (which makes it awkward to ascend/hold on to when getting down) and two pods (single bed) with sockets, shelves, and ear plugs (the ear plugs were really good quality ones and I have misphonia). There were 4 large lockers in the room as well as a hairdryer, hooks, a chair, and wide windowsills to place clothes/etc.

CanadaHaving one stove was problematic at times if you plan on cooking for yourself. One bathroom stall per floor was not ideal. The pods get very hot at night with the curtain closed.
The building was very modern and the contactless entry/check in was awesome. The pods were awesome and really gave you your own space. The pods also had USB ports and storage within which was excellent. The lockers within the room were large enough to fit my 65L backpack. The location was incredible, right off the bus stop and an amazing view of Edinburgh Castle within a 30 second walk from the building.

CroatiaIt was very noisy from the outside (few pubs nearby so it is noisy both late in the night and early in the morning), earplugs helped a bit. Also, the locker is big enough only for smaller bags. Bigger bags and suitcases don't fit, so it can get little crowded in the room.
Spacious pod with curtain that really gives you privacy. You have a little shelf inside for your things and a place to charge your phone. I also liked location in the city centre, well equiped common bathroom, good free WiFi connection, earplugs provided.
