There were no staff on site. If you don’t have access to emails you cannot get into the hotel. My emails came late and so I had to call reception, no one answered. Lucky there happened to be a cleaner who let me in. We were not told that renovations would be happening. Windows were being installed in the adjoining room until almost 10pm. There was mess left in the hallway (pictured) which I had to sweep aside myself to avoid cutting my feet. During my stay, two men were locked out of their rooms due to forgetting a code and we called each number and no one answered for over 15 minutes. One man mentioned how it was good it wasn’t an emergency at the hotel. Doors slam loudly and rooms get very hot. Overall, not value for money.

I don't think dormitory accommodation is for me. There were 2 rooms on the floor I stayed, my room had 6 pods. There was a single toilet for both rooms. There was 2 showers but one was out of use. The she shower was dirty and didn't drain well. The locker for my belongings was broken and didn't lock.

Good location. The bed was clean and I was grateful for the privacy curtain. Easy check-in system. Although the app recommended didn't find my booking, but the access code worked. I was glad of the ear plugs that were provided when someone started snorning.

Incredibly small space, people take up most of the communal space in the room with large luggage, the heat in the room was stuffy, no air, mattress was a bit stiff, door makes a loud noise when it shuts to the room and didnt feel comfortable showering due to lack of space. I needed to hear my phone for the alarm, but the noice outside and in the room kept me awake most of the night. I got two hours sleep at most.

Location is great. Felt private in the cubicle sleeping space. Good communal kitchen space. Simple to enter the building.

It can get a bit loud in the early morning with the garbage collection trucks. Locks are a bit small if you are carrying a big backpack.

Really confortable hostel. Lovely kitchen where you can label and store your food. Clean toilets and showers. Relaxed atmosphere and really convenient location. Pods allow you to have your privacy.

I really don't have any complaints.

The location was absolutely perfect. I do think that for a hostel that price was VERY steep, but compared to the other hotel options, it was doable for me. Seems pretty standard for accommodations to hike their prices when someone like Harry Styles is in town. If it wasn't for me scoring this hostel, I wouldn't have made the trip to Scotland, so I am grateful!

I felt safe, secure, comfortable. The staff are lovely. I spoke to some nice women staying there who were also traveling solo. The bed pods are brilliant, you have complete privacy to get a good night sleep. Hot showers. Modern common room with great kitchen. Fantastic location

Pillow were very small, had to use clothes as a pillow to have a comfortable sleep. Too late now but having lockers away from beds would be handy, causes less noise and can change around the locker

The place has no staff on sight at all, although they were responsive via phone/email. Entry looked a bit dodgy, in a back alley, close to rubbish bins. I had to carry my luggage 3 floors up over a dimly lit metallic stairs. The dark staircase didn't feel comfortable and was a bit scary. Also the area for the luggage storage was very dark and tiny. Common area was smaller than it looks on the pictures, and not easy to find initially since no signage. Only one functioning shower, one toilet and two small sinks for 12 people. And not super clean since so many people were using them. Windows did not close properly and one curtain was not properly fixed. Although the curtain of the pod helped.

Beds were quite comfortable and pods were helpful not to be disturbed at night. Guests were respectful and quiet. There was free luggage storage

There was no reception on side. The pin codes to our room did not work properly which was very annoying. The room was tiny. One shower was out of order, so two rooms had to share only one shower and one toilet. All in all, our stay there was very expensive considering the quality and the service provided by the hostel.

The equipment of the rooms is modern and the beds with curtains offer some privacy. The location of the hostel is great, very close to the train station and the Old Town.

Don’t understand the euphoric reviews. The vibe is odd, staff seems tense, it’s not very clean, the room is not very well-insulated and the road is noisy. Overall, not a great experience.

The bed is clean. It was quiet at night. The location of the hotel is easy to find. The staff also responded to my messages online in a timely manner, and everything went well！Next time I come to Edinburgh I will continue to try again.
