The breakfast (which was paid for) was a bit disappointing as many of the items were finished, meaning it was not properly catered for.

The location was great, and the rooms were very clean. The privacy of the pods was much better than a typical dorm style hostel. The walking tour was greatly useful and appreciated!

My 2nd stay at the Code: located at the very centre of the Royal Mile - top start location for the "day tours" Helpfull staff - always ready to solve my "problems" Great that I could book my Whisky-Tasting directly at the hotel itself

First hostel experience and I can say that I would definitely do it again! The location is super convenient, close to the train station (so you don't have to drag your suitcase across the city) and easy access to both old and new towns. Lots of sites and sights and food around. Staff was helpful and there were breakfast and laundry services available. Entrances and rooms are unlocked with a code. The beds and bathrooms are clean and relatively comfortable, with curtains for each pod that do a decent job with privacy and blocking out light if you are light-sensitive when sleeping. There isn't a lot of extra space in the rooms for larger suitcases so you might end up packing and unpacking in the hallways, which is something to keep in mind if you are noise-sensitive that people are coming in and out of the room early mornings/late nights, but there are earplugs available at the front. There is a kitchen/common area for people to use to study/WFH.

The location couldn't be more central! Most of the sites I wanted to see is in a walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. Roommates were quiet.

Best hostel that I've ever stayed!! Extremely clean, comfy and warm. I can keep my privacy due to single pod and it was so nice that there are key pad even for locker!! I definitely will stay here again when I visit Edinburgh.

The lockers couldn’t fit large suitcases, but you could put it else where in the room.

The hotel is in a perfect location. About 15 minute walk to the Akers Brygge and 15 minute walk to shopping at Karl Johan Gate. Staff was great and the mini room is amazing for a solo traveller. Beds super comfortable

The common areas - while convenient - seemed a little tight for such a big hostel. Also the stairs to the upper pods were a bit risky to climb up and down.

Loved the prime location in the city! The premises are original and everything was neat. Staff was helpful and they kindly provided with an extra duvet upon request when I felt cold in the room.

I would wish for my warmer bathrooms (the bathroom space itself) and maybe more toilets.

The staff its super friendly and always available. You can rent a towel for 3£ and they also offer whisky tasting that is also a fun experience. Location its perfect and you could not hope for anything better. The rooms are clean and you have a locker for your personal stuff.

The night I stayed there it was pouring and the water was seeping in through the window making the floor and window platform dripping and wet. Not a major inconvenience though.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was clean and comfortable. Bed is basic but then ok for solo travellers. Breakfast is quite affordable.

Of course, much depends on who you end up sharing the rooms with. Out of five nights, two I had noisy snorers disturbing sleep. Not sure what can be done and I suppose it's a price we pay for a cheap stay. It's not to do with the property. Breakfast is cheap and OK, tho bread and cheese could be better quality.

Good, cheap, very central location. The pods are great: comfy and all to hand. Good staff. Breakfast is a chance to fill up for a cheap price. Plenty of nice food alternatives locally, tho likely double the price. Kitchen is useful.

In my opinion, the snack is slightly overpriced.

My stay at the CoDE Pod was absolutely fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and can confidently say that I'll be returning for another visit. The atmosphere, service, and overall ambience exceeded my expectations. The bathroom cleanliness and facilities are so good. Looking forward to making more wonderful memories during my next stay!

Not really a drawback but the room was a little too hot even for winter and we had to turn the heater down every morning.

The facility was super clean, the staff incredibly friendly and the place was close to everything! Also they had a big variety of food to choose from for breakfast. Last but not least I felt safe throughout my stay, which as a female solo traveler is very important. I totally recommend this hostel💕
