Great location, just in the center of Royal mile and behind the church, close to everywhere. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is good and valuable.

They were holding some free and fantastic events! It really helped me to make friends and make my travel not that lonely. Got me more chance to talk with more people! And all the people from this hostel and people who living there were soooooo nice! Highly recommend! And if I got a chance to come back to Edinburgh again, I will definitely come again!

As in general in hostels, roommates could be noisy, drunks screaming outside and stuff

Was on top bunk, found it a little bit of a struggle getting in and out of the pod - a grab bar at the top of the pod would really help with this. People are coming and going and making noises throughout the night, turning on the blue motion sensor light - be aware of this if you are a light sleeper. I believe you can get ear plugs and eye masks if needed from reception. The pods can get a bit hot too, but fans are also available at reception if needed.

Very friendly staff, tidy rooms. Good facilities and good location. The pod has a little shelf, 2 usb charging ports, a pillow, blanket, sheet and mattress. Each pod has a curtian to pull across when sleeping.

I haven’t stayed in a hostel since I left my 20s - and I was delighted with the comfort, diversity and welcome I received at CoDE. Front desk very welcoming, facilities were terrific (comfy pod, great showers and baggage storage).

I wish there had been more hooks in the bathroom to hang things from Sometimes it was a bit difficult to find out about the events happening at the hostel

The hostel has the most perfect location, the facilities are well lit and clean. I really liked the pod setup in the rooms, it is very quiet and peaceful to sleep in a pod The staff was also very kind and informative

I wish the towel was included in the basic fee. Some shower doors were a bit dodgy, never felt unsafe but some have a big space around the frame so you can kinda see inside :( . I recommend bringing your own shower flip-flops. Breakfast wasn't bad for the price but not amazing either.

The best thing about this place is the location. It's in the middle of the prettiest part of the city, with fast access to most touristic attractions or tour meeting points. The capsule beds are comfy and private, and with the help of some earplugs I sleeps great even as a light sleeper.

It really was basic living quarters, with just a bed and shower.. Food and drinks weren't allowed in the room.

Tough to beat the location. You step out the door and you're right at the heart of the city. It's very close to Edinburgh Castle, tour buses, restaurants and the hop-on hop-off bus. The room was modern and clean. The bed was comfortable.

The only thing I would suggest would be to put a quieter door in the courtroom dorm as despite the fact that the other guests are trying to be quiet the door is nearly impossible to close without making noise. Otherwise, I loved the stay there and I will hopefully stay with you again. Thank you.

I had only stayed for a few hours while waiting for an early flight. It was quite nice and comfortable with a lot of privacy for a hostel. The pods were well lit and roomy, with the USB port being quite handy

Not really a negative, just that there was limited availability for female only dorms, although that’s just because it’s so popular.

Great location in the center of the old city. :) Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of showers and toilets, so there were no queues. Breakfast at £6 was satisfying. :) Comfortable mattress.

I don't have anything I didn't like.

I had an amazing stay here. There was a free walking tour which I took part of, and it was really awesome having Sarah show us round the town and tell us stories about it. It was also my birthday and I got a celebration doughnut courtesy of the CoDE team, it was really thoughtful of them. Pods are so private and comfy. Bathroom and toilet was clean. I love the proximity of the hostel to Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The bunk beds on the lower level don't have much air circulating, but the hostel provides fans, and one can simply open the curtain a tiny bit to get some of the AC air coming in. So not big bother after all...

Great hostel, super quiet, amazing staff, clean facilities and very good breakfast. The location is amazing, I will definitely go back or advise anyone I know to go there.

The location was amazing, could not have been better. The bed was very comfortable and the little curtain across the bed was very good and blocked out light. The rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and accommodate my wish to have a bottom bunk . There was alot of activities organised by the staff. I chose not to participate but the option was there, which was nice
