Very central location - walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. Breakfast spread was quite plentiful. Bed was comfortable and toilets were clean.

The bed could be longer but if you are staying in a pod you can’t really be too picky, it hardly bothered me at all. If you are under 5’7 you’ll be all good.

Amazing location, great staff, super clean, best sleep I’ve had in a hostel in a long time. great lockers, two USB ports near the bed, and a reading light and little shelf in the pod as well.

In other hostels I stayed at, there were some events where all hostel guests could join - for example going all together to a pub. I just stayed there one night, but I would have loved an event like this

Friendly staff and extraordinarily clean bathrooms, I finally had one good night's sleep due to the privacy of the pods. I never stayed in a hostel like this so I really enjoyed the experience. I also really liked the design and every room had another name. I felt everything was quite modern. Plus you're right in the heart of Edinburgh at the Royal Mile.

It was so noisy. Even in the private rooms, there was no insulation in the walls. You could hear everything in the halls and outside. No one seems to listen to quiet hours. staff wasn’t as helpful as other hostels I’ve stayed, but weren’t rude either.

During the breakfast when nobody from stuff was in the kitchen it was lack of info whats included and whats not. The stuff sometimes were more interested in themselves than the guests, but still for me general opinion is very good.

Great localisation, in the city center, close to the train station ( 10 min walking) to the bus to airport (7-8 min walking)great idea for the design of the place. Cool rooms, modern bathroom. Comfortable box-bed, with all what was neccessary to have, big locker for baggage as for hostel. No lock needed. Ive received all mandatory info before arrival, with trips offers which was great, cause I dont need to look for anything by myself. Breakfast was ok, good waffles.

The building was a courthouse and jail. The hallways and rooms are dimly lit. Remember your passcode because all doors are unlocked by passcode. The bathroom was clean and could use more hooks and spaces for toiletries. The bunk beds are all connected pods and other sleepers can be heard if they knock on the side of their pod.

The location is perfect for exploring the main sites in Edinburgh. It is located right off the Royal Mile and a 3 minute walk to the castle. The bed and the bedding was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. There was ample locker space and the staff was friendly and helpful. Towels can be rented for 2 pounds and there's a large kitchen for meal prep and complimentary tea.

I stayed at Code for 5 days and can truly say that it was one of the best 5 days of my life. The hostel was absolutely incredible as a solo traveler. As I arrived, I was treated by the most friendly staff who soon became friends. They went above and beyond to ensure you were constantly having a good time. They arranged games evenings, quiz nights and traditional Scottish dancing outings. There was even a free walking tour for all guests which was engertaining and informative. I have made some of the best memories and friends during my time there. The location was perfect and the hostel itself exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend Code Hostels enough!

The pod in the 8-pod dorm was really comfortable and cozy. It was quiet and really clean. The shower and bathroom was clean. The location is brilliant, everything you need to do in Edinburgh is just a 5 minute walk away! Breakfast was nice.

I fell in love with Edinburgh as soon as I arrived to Scottland and this hostel is one of the main reasons why.The whole place has a really cool vibe,its modern,clean and very well organised.People working there are really nice,polite and helpfull.The free walking tour they are offering was really fun and interesting shout out to Ross for being sutch a cool tour guy! Their paid beer tour was very fun too and it takes place in an underground vault that was forgotten for decades and rediscovered by accident during the last renovations how cool is that !The hostel is right on the Royal mile close to everything you need and its very affordable to stay too.I cant say enough good things about this place.Keep up the good job guys!

There was a mix up with payment but is being quickly fixed

The staff were so friendly. My room was very cold later at night and a member of staff kindly gave us more duvets. She is now affectionately known as the winter warmer.
