How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I booked a budget option, but the room in real life was way smaller than in the pictures, I was surprised by how little space there were. Also the bathroom is extremely small and the bathroom door doesn't exactly shut. The room was on the lower floor so the view from the window was basically the courtyard and even though I didn't notice anyone walking there, it would have been extremely easy for anyone walking to see inside the room so I kept the blinds shut.
Even though the room was very small, it had everything needed for a quick two night stay. It was clean and the staff was friendly in our brief interactions. I got no real complaints.

The bathroom and room itself were quite aged with some mysterious stains and water damage.
Good location and lovely staff. The complimentary luggage storage is helpful especially as we checked out at 11 but caught our train at 2.

Extremely expensive for a 6sqm2 room. Hard to manage heat, and need to wait very long to get hot water. Also very noisy from other rooms / the street

Outside noise from traffic horns beeping etc... but to be expecting being so close to the main road and busy stations.
Great location to Kingcross/St pancras & the underground. Very friendly and welcoming staff who helped us with our luggage up the room and let us keep our luggage in the reception upon check out until we were ready to travel home. Relaxed atmosphere warm rooms & comfortable bedding.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like
Great location and only a short walk to Kings Cross . The room was clean and well equipped. The shower was hot and it was nice to have toiletries available. The bed was comfortable. The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Would certainly consider staying again.

The room was very small and it had a bit of a smell. The bathroom fan was loud and didn’t stop for quite awhile after turning the switch off. The hair dryer didn’t work. It was not worth $177 cdn!
The location was fantastic.

Absolutely nothing, everything was just great !
Good location zone 1 few meters away from the train, bus and subway stations. Hotel is renovated and clean. Super friendly staff always there to help. All day reseption. Rooms are warm with regulation possibility. We stayed very satisfied with our choice to accommodate. Highly recommend for this money value !

The Room was super comfy and very well cleaned. Staff was really welcoming, polite, nice & very helpful. The location is very quiet especially during night, so it is very nice for those who wants to travel to a place were they can rest their minds. Believe me it's worth it. The hotel was very close to almost everything, for example Train station, burger king & costa coffee are 1 minute away from the hotel. I highly recommend it.

Beware this hotel provides a shower in the room but the hotel only allows a trickle of water to come out. The bathroom had a sewer odor and it forced us to keep the door closed at all times.
The young man that checked us in was very kind.

Room was very outdated and old. The bedding did not look clean. The cleaning crew was horrible. My room was not cleaned during my entire stay. The crew's cleaning schedule is from 9am to 3pm, but often they wouldnt come by the room. Very unacceptable.
The wi-fi was reliable. The location was a two minute walk from Kings Cross station. The front desk was very friendly. Food options were a five minute walk away.
