The noise was disappointing. Doors slamed shut as they were heavy. Wood planks on walkways caused noise, with luggage rolling over it.

Location was good. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful.

One of the toilettes didn't work and I coudn't find anyone in the building from the staff to repair or just to check it.

It was in a calm environment as well as not far from the city centre. The room was quite good for a quick stay. The bathroom was supplied with papers after handwash.

The lights are too dim, and some furniture is a bit of old.

Great buffet breakfast, the room is cozy, especially the bed.

    Nothing

University buildings were so adorable, i liked it so much. Location is a bit far from train station, it is beside Aurther‘s seat and you can view it from the hotel room. The breakfast was good and enough. It is clean, organized place, totally recommend.

In an ideal world Pollock Halls would be nearer the centre of town because the walk home after a late-night Fringe show would be shorter.

I had little contact with the staff other than at check-in and check-out but they were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine and set me up for the day.

It was missing a hair dryer and an iron. Also I could have done with extra blankets as I got a little cold during the night.

The breakfast was fabulous. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. The room was clean.

If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. You can hear people talking and walking in the hallway. WiFi was not great, kept cutting out or was very slow.

Reception, catering and cleaning staff were efficient. There are so many people going through the place, especially at breakfast, it was amazing to watch them stay on top of it all. Great location for us - easy 15 minute walk into town, on multiple bus routes within short walking distance.

    Parking.

Breakfast was exceptional. Students are VERY fortunate if they get fed like this every day Option to do laundry - nice modern machines. Would prefer less than 5 pound minimum. Able to walk to restaurants and Arthur's seat (major reason I chose this location.)

The bathroom next to my room, Ewing 22, had a faulty hot water faucet. It was IMPOSSIBLE to turn it off, and it took a while to find someone In the building to turn off the water. A Monty Python comedy...

Dorm-like facilities... obviously. Great price for Edinburgh in the summer. Extremely reasonably priced meals. Good value for money.

On the last day we got back to the room and there was dog or human dirt just outside and on the threshold as you went in the door. It got cleaned up pretty fast but... and the first day the door lock needed a new battery and we had to go back down to reception. Would have liked them to then sort it out while we went to get a meal, but they'd not checked it was working when we got back. However, staff member did come with us so we'd not gave to come down again if it wasn't working.

The staff were great and got ys an extra night which meant a better room. The room was a good size and had a balcony facing the Mount which was fantastic, and the accommodation was an easy walk to Fringe venue Summerhall, and a good gastro pub. The buffet breakfast was excellent and extensive, though the seating was student refectory style and numbers of visitors made it loud at busy times.
