The staff at checkout were polite but gave wrong directions to the block for my room initially so I was wondering around for ages, and on checkout the queue were huge! Took ages to check out. Nice to have a 24hour reception but may need a few more staff at key times. It’s a tiny thing, but a hairdryer in rooms would be a helpful and seems reasonable for this price.

The breakfast was amazing, so much choice and served from 7am-10am. Very busy as it’s a BIG place, but a huge range including cooked breakfast, lots of fruit and hot drinks selections, cold selections, cereals etc from a self-service buffet. Room itself also well stocked with tea and coffee. Excellent location right next to Arthur’s Seat and 25minutes walk from the Pleasance Courtyard (Fringe venue). The room was clean and mine had a gorgeous view. It’s a standard price during the Fringe season and worth it instead of taking a chance on a smaller venue. As a woman travelling alone, you know what you are getting with a clean, open and lit University campus, 24 hour reception and plenty of people about. Would certainly recommend.

My single room had no bathroom had to use shared bathroom out in corridor. No kettle for making tea/coffee. Very disappointed

Staff was very nice. Breakfast is included. It was a fun experience sleeping in a dorm room aswell. The location is greay too, there is a street with restaurants close by and enough busses to go into city center.

Rooms look tired, and need a good dose of anti-mould spray in the showers. Also found previous occupants hair in the shower! Unfortunately during the Fringe, even basic accommodation is extortionate and this was no exception.

There was a little kitchen on each floor, but it was closed, so you had to go to JMCC for additional 19 pounds for dinner or local bar to have some decent meal or hot drink at least.

The place was clean and comfortable, with nice personnell. We used shower room, bathroom and drier room, all OK. Breakfast at the JMCC was excellent.

A few really noisy people coming in on early hours if morning. Maybe should be a notice for quiet to respect other guests.

The check in and check out procedures could be improved.The staff were not very confident with the computer system and it took quite aong time.Also ot had not been made clear that I had paid on arrival and therefore did not need to queue on check out.Icould have just used express check out by placing keys in a box.

I have never seen such an array of different food as in this restaurant there is something for everyone all well presented and prepared . My room was basic but clean and tidy ,location is out of the city centre but no problem ,i like walking.

proximity to the lift & stair door as it slammed everytime & we requested a quiet room! but didnt distract from an excellent stay.

the rooms were very clean, beds very comfortable. location was great a short bus ride into town, one day we walked into town. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of choice for everyone. Bar & barfood was excellent. Staff very friendly.

The bed was really hard but was given a couple of extra duvets and placed them down as a sheet and everything was good.

The food was absolutely amazing the staff was really friendly and the location 20 minute walk into town. And have the park right next to you.
