It was so basic. The rooms had no protection against sound. It was so loud as the people staying next to us were playing music etc. One towel provided for two people. They did give us another when we asked. You have to walk to reception for every single query. Pillows flat and a tad smelly. They did give us others when asked. No toiletries but soap. Canteen provided plastic plates and cups to use and is way over packed. No structure. There is a bar and restaurant that closes at 11 but it is expensive. There was security, I do not know did the walk the corridors as they were set up at reception but no phones in rooms if you needed help. I do feel bad for students having to share those rooms during college. They are so small for two people.

Clean, and 10 mins in a taxi from the center. Beautiful garden areas.

    Spartan but effective

'Spartan' is the word that comes to mind. The beds aren't very comfortable, with only one pillow and the duvets are almost non existent. Also the shared bathrooms make it less than ideal.

Great location, lovely breakfast. it was also excellent value for money in a place that was beside the absolutely stunning Holyrood park.

Very poor sound insulation with constant loud noise when doors from other units/rooms slaming hard when closed and people/kids talking in the hallways.

Great breakfast. Lots of variety. Best value.

Shared toilets were flooded for days, I stayed for six days and they were only cleaned on day 4. It was disgusting

The room wasn't very clean, but the communal kitchen was dirty, and was missing basic items, like plates, cutlery and glasses. The cattle was also dirty.

It was adequate for a night. Breakfast was very good.

The bathrooms were not clean (hair build up in sinks and on the sides of the bath), bed felt like I was one turn away from falling apart, noise from doors slamming open and closed, breakfast started too late for me to use. Trying to navigate the building I was staying in was very tricky without appropriate signage.

Location and proximity to the city centre.

Everything was good. It might have been useful to have plug adapters for foreign guests.

The breakfast is exceptional, the room was very comfortable and the bathroom that is just next to the room was always clean (it is a shared bathroom but it is for one person at the time, no shared showers or anything like that) and never occupied. The wifi is great - I was able to work there and have video calls with no problems.

    - the room was very old and dusty - it was not very clean with dust and hairs on the floor - the bed linen had stains - the mattress was very old and bumpy - the carpet smelled and wasn't clean - the bathroom was very old, with a very narrow shower that might cause problems for bigger people

The room was very affordable and on nice grounds The city centre is easy to reach by bus the towels provided were clean

Great breakfast, budget friendly place to sleep and take a shower.

Well, this is a student dorm and looks like it, too. The building where I stayed was a maze, maybe it would be more traveller friendly if they could mark clearly how to get to ground floor and exit (all fire exits were really clearly marked though). I almost got lost inside the building :)

If you need a budget friendly place to sleep and take a shower + great breakfast, this is your place to stay :) This is a student dorm that serves as a hotel during the summer. So do not expect fancy interior. Breakfast was excellent, although premises had noisy school lunch hall vibes. Great location near Arthurr´s Seat and only a few bus stops away from the city center. Walking distance without heavy luggage.

The staff at reception didn’t care that people were waiting to check in. Four people were talking and two were checking in guests. The gym was closed for the summer. This wasn’t anywhere before I checked in. There was no air conditioning. It was confusing to navigate the property.

    I liked the cost
