They told me my room was ready when I got there but when I got to the room it wasn't ready. Food from the previous occupiers was still on the side. However, I spoke to the cleaning lady who was very friendly and helpful and she started work immediately on my room to get it ready.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and there were always plenty on hand in the reception area to help if need be. The location was clean and there was a great view of the hills in Holyrood Park from the bedroom window. The breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of choice.

A bit far away from everything. Including being far from the shops to replace items that I needed due to my delayed bag.

Good value. Clean private dorm room. Clean shared shower and toilet room Excellent helpful staff at reception. My bag was delayed by the airline and the staff at Pollock Hall was very attentive and helpful in accepting my bag and holding it for me until I could pick it up. Ample food for breakfast.

Cold (and we went in June), worn down furniture inside the rooms, strobe light in the toilet, clean toilets, but again - worn down.

Good location, comfy beds, good breakfast with wide options

    Distance to station and supermarket

It's a college dormitory and a good value accommodation, for £55 you'd be hard to find anything in the same class in Edinburgh!

My room was in one of the older residences and was rather difficult to access through two fire doors and corridor from the elevator. It seemed rather quiet so I'm not sure why I couldn't be in a more easily accessible room.

The room was very reasonably priced, as long as you know you are staying in a student residence. You get a comfortable bed in a decent sized room, but which is a little dated given its normal use during University term.

It's the halls of residence, basic rooms that are in need of maintenance. Door closures / slams are very loud and penetrate throughout the building. For the cost I don't feel it's great value.

The breakfast was fantastic, the location was fairly convenient.

The twin beds were a little short for a 6’2”person.

Reception staff were really helpful and friendly, breakfast was amazing. Really close to a bus stop that frequently goes into town and close to Arthur’s seat (we had a nice view of it from our room’s window). Laundry facilities were available and super cheap

The pillows in the room can use some update.

The facility was close to Arthur's Seat, the one activity I was interested in. Acesss to campus facilities was also a plus, not to mention the warm buffet breakfast.

We liked the opportunity to stay at the University appartments, having a small shop and pub on-site and including breakfast buffet, getting into contact with many other international visitors. Bus lines 30 and 33 connect Pollock Houses with Princess Street (15-20 min).

Facilities are quite basic, sometimes not very clean. For instance there’s no hairdryer, towels provided have stains, tables have grease marks

It’s peaceful & quiet, right next to Holyrood Park. It’s also reachable by bus, very convenient to go to city centre. The price is very affordable. English/Scottish style breakfast has a reasonable range of choices
