How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We were very impressed with everything at Elysian Fields and wouldn't change anything.
Elysian Fields had a very modern feel, was furnished to a high standard and was spotlessly clean. Ample parking space was available. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a large window from which we had a distant view of the sea. A wide range of food items were provided for continental breakfasts each day with the option of a cooked breakfast in addition. For the cooked breakfast there was often something unusual and creative, but always tasty! Elysian Fields was convenient for visiting many tourist locations of the South West Cornwall area. The beautiful harbour of Porthleven, with its pleasant eating establishments, is only a few minutes drive away.

The room was a bit small. I would add shutters to the windows since you wake up at 5 am due to the light, but that is more or less valid for every place in UK.
This B&B served the best breakfast of our whole trip! We were a bit reluctant since the site said 'continental breakfast' and we love English breakfast. However our hostess is clearly a great cook, and every morning we could taste something different, and plenty of options too. Our room was simple but functional, and in the evenings we could also eat our own food in the dining area (since there is no restaurant), with cutlery and plates.

Suggested non slip shower mat in our shower.
Great choice of English or Continental Breakfast. Arrived on Motorcycles and parked in one of the garages. Room was great with a Sailing theme to bedding, curtains, and bedside light(houses). Made to feel very comfortable by Jackie and the lovely staff. Would recommend and stay again.

Staff went out of their way to provide everything we needed, even to cooking bacon and egg, when we'd previously had continental breakfast. Room was pristine, had plenty of space AND a fridge.

The bed mattress was a bit too soft for my back pain!
Despite the breakfast being considered 'continental' Kim was so good as to cook some eggs supplements.

Very well laid out English breakfast. The host was were welcoming and made any customised breakfast. All meals made in-house kitchen by host. Definitely will recommend to visit and have a comfortable stay.

The cost was expensive for a couple, we paid £545.00 for 3 nights. Breakfast was only continental with one morning of fresh fruit which was appreciated. The bedroom was let down with furnishings. There was no xx where to sit and apply make up / or fix hair for such a large room. The local pub food was tasteless frozen meals would not recommend.
Very quiet in a little village called Ashton 25minute drive to Penzance. B and B built in front of camping site and Pods and has a number of diverse businesses running from the site.

Only two small skylight windows, no view, they have spent a lot of money on this room but still dark. No English Breakfast.

breakfast was left out it was continental with scotch eggs you could not tell if they were fresh or not plus what looked like fresh eggs but not told what you could do with them
