Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe area in general is not the most romantic (for couples). Not that it’s too much of a deal if one plans to visit the city, but maybe it’s still something to be considered by couples. The cleanliness of the floor was a bit in a need of improvement. The general condition of the furniture and accessories (mirror) in the bathroom has to be fixed: the shower base is peeling off due to moisture, the toilet board is damaged, as is the mirror.
The room was very large and spacious. The bed was comfortable, the sheets looked clean and there was a sofa as well. I didn’t use the TV but it was very large. The owner provided a kettle and boxes of different teas (and sugar) which were much appreciated. The common kitchen looked clean and in order and there also was a washing machine. The location was simply perfect for the cost: there are two tube stops (Finchley Road & Frognal and West Hampstead) at a five-minutes walk to go downtown or get around in general. It was also very easy to get there from Luton Airport (thanks to the train station stop West Hamstead) and to go to Stansted Airport (National Express line A6 from Finchley Road).

United KingdomThe bed wasn’t the most stable, the slats came loose once or twice. The shower was quite difficult to work but is a really good size.
It was a really good size and the balcony was wonderful

United KingdomToilet seat broken, TV not tuned and unable to be tuned as no coo-axle cable, no HDMI and cannot connect to android phone. Bathroom door handle broken and falling off, doors were quite grubby, shower base needs attention. Has clearly been one house converted into HMO, but not by qualified tradesperson. This is an on-suite bedroom with a lock on the door.
Room was clean.

United KingdomEverything, complete disgust at the entire situation, especially as I'm still waiting for a full refund....
Nothing. Didn't stay. Place was filthy, my room still had permanent tenants in. Place smelled of stale alcohol and weed. Completely disgusting and in no way fit for use. The entire property was filthy with stains on curtains and bed spreads. When I contacted the owner to say I can't stay as they place is not fit or what was advertised, she argued with me and refused to give me my refund.. Avoid this place at all cost unless you want to pay upfront and lose your money without staying. I was in the property for 10 minutes and booking. Con won't even help get the money back. Last time I use booking.com Bunch of cowboys.

NetherlandsThe apartment was dirtier than expected. We found a lot of hair in the shower, the teacups in the room were dirty and there was still some tea in them. In the bed we found an inhaler that was not ours. Finally the toilet seat broke just by sitting on it.
The bed was comfortable and the checkin was easy. The location was fine, it was close to a tube station.

AustraliaHard to find in the street. Don’t take a car as there is nowhere to park. I tried for 2 hours and ended up taking car back to hire place and got Uber back. Bed was a king but it needs a new mattress as we couldn’t move in the morning. TV is not programmed also.
Big room that also had a washing machine and dryer.

United KingdomThere is a small kitchen shared with other guests who had left dirty dishes in the sink but I was able to find clean mugs in the cupboard. Nice big fridge and tea making facilities in the room but no milk - would have been helpful to let us know to bring some.
We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and the nice balcony. Easy to find and access and a very short walk from the overground train station. Lots of excellent communication with the landlord.
