Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomYes, it is above a bar so you get all of the associated noises but after 11pm it was pretty quiet. This is a basic place, squeaky metal beds etc but for top rice and location it’s pretty good.
The location, once you find it, is great. Unmarked green door with code access means no hassle checking in.

PolandThe damp smell was awfull in the whole building - the walls, the bedsheets and towels stunk and in the kitchen we have seen at least three cockroaches, which was nasty
I liked the location, it is very close to the city centre.

United KingdomBit noise but to be expected given the location. Could do with some new blinds or give them a good clean. Needs a new shower hose, it's knackered and leaking..

FinlandSheets and towels is very old and very used. Sheets were also torn. Maybe a trip to Ikea would be in order? The room was much smaller than we tought, the door didn't open completely.
Location is great. In the center of Camden.

United KingdomCouldn't find the remote control anywhere. A few questionable bugs in the kitchen despite it being spotless. No curtains in the room.
Lovely kitchen and very clean bathroom. Excellent location and very good value for money. Just what I needed for the night.

KenyaThe room was basic but clean which worked for us. Only issue was the bunk beds were soooo squeaky! Kept waking up to the sound when someone moved in their bed.

United KingdomI imagine it would be very noisy at weekends, the area is extremely busy on weekends. Luckily i stayed on a Tuesday night when it's quiet but the windows are far from soundproof and I could hear the noise from the jerk chicken restaurant next door. I could also hear the market stalls setting up in the morning. Also, the beds were very squeaky and you have to make your own bed up, well not fully make them up, but you do have to put a duvet inside the duvet cover.
Great location if you want to be right in the heart of Camden, excellent value for money, clean bedroom and shared bathroom.

Very close to Camden market and underground, exceptionally easy instructions and easy to find. Really good value for money, if you just want to go out and have somewhere to sleep this is ideal. Bring earplugs and a sleep mask, it’s above a rum bar.

United KingdomIt was noisy. It's right above a bar, and it was Dietary night. The music stopped at 2am, but the noise of the people outside kept going for quite a while afterwards. Bring earplugs, especially at the weekend.
It was clean, easy to access. Very close to the underground station. The price was very good.

United KingdomIf you want to sleep all night don't take this. I could hear every turn of my body or the bodies of my roommates, because the beds squeak – and very loud. And of course – you could hear everything on the street below. Also the room is almost empty – nothing just bunk beds and a few shelves.
Location – close to underground

United KingdomLocation is dodgy, got accosted by multiple beggars / homeless on route to and in the area.
Exactly what you pay for, to get a property this cheap in London you have to be willing to somewhat slum it. The room was tiny, but it had 3 beds and a locking door, and that's what I'd paid for so that's all that mattered.

DenmarkAs the other reviews say: loud environment. There's a couple bars downstairs with music and loud people. People throwing glass bottles and yelling at each other well after the bar is closed. And then the Iverness Street Market is just outside the window too, so they start setting that up at around 7AM, I think - so there is not a lot of hours without noise throughout the night. BUT: closing the window, earplugs / headphones, or some alcohol, will definitely help a lot with shutting out the noise, so it's definitely possible to get the sleep needed, despite the noise. That's just the "price" you pay for wanting to stay in Camden I guess, but overall it was still worth it. The bar has security outside, so there were never any problems with getting to the front door, you just had to ask.
The room was exactly as expected, and came with towels and bed linen. We got a door code from the host in a message here on Booking.com a couple hours before we arrived. Here, it says the street number is "6", but on the door it says "6A", which confused us a little bit, but otherwise it was easy to find :) Bathroom was nice too, but we didn't use the kitchen, so I can't say much about that. This is a very nice place, if you just need somewhere to sleep and not "be". Area: Camden is such a nice area, and we loved staying here. Got breakfast at "Turtle Bay" and "The Lost Elephant's Kitchen", which were both very nice meals. Went out for a beer at "The World's End" and "The Black Heart". Both, but especially the latter, can be recommended. Close to both public transport (Northern Underground Line and Overground) and all the markets of Camden.

SpainThe place where is situated is quite noisy so be aware of that when booking. It's just above a street where there are at least three or four bars/pubs.
It was quite near the tube station. The price and the pictures provided match what you would expect. The location in itself is quite good just in the centre of Camden Town.

CroatiaWhen I got there, the building was locked, there was no reception, no one to ask about how to get inside, so I called the number I found on Booking.com. The person who answered was extremely rude, not giving me any info but telling me in a really really rude and irritated way to check my email and then he hung up. I didn't receive any email from the property, so I called back to again ask how to get inside the building. Then he just sent me the pin number in an SMS. Eventually I did get the email he was talking about - 2 days after I had left.
