The shower looked as though it was starting to go mouldy on the bottom edge and could do with a more thorough clean.

Staff were amazing and got us into the room early which made a huge difference on our stay in the city, being able to rest a bit before exploring! The bed was so comfy and spacious.

Limited storage space (there's no place in the bathroom to put towels and other items, and there's only one bedside cabinet). Lack of outlets (they are only on one side of the bed). The mattress was dirty.

Great location, close to the city center, yet no noise can be heard from outside. The bed was comfortable and large.

Susceptible to noise as some rooms back onto a loading area for a supermarket. The first night there was loading and unloading late at night for an hour. It takes 25 minutes walking into the centre of Edinburgh and the attractions. There is a very good bus system.

Good value for money for an overnight. No lift so not good for older people with luggage. It's More a hostel style hotel and is part of the university of Edinburgh.probably converted student residence

From the room were we stayed, it was possible to hear a humming noise that might have been a bit inconvenient if one were to sleep with the window open.

Our room was on 4th floor and we had to climb 4 flights as there’s no lift at the hotel. However, the Staff called someone to carry our bags upstairs and this was very helpful.

There is no fan in the room, it was too warm and we kept the room open all day to get fresh air.

The room was very small for 2 people. There was a lack of space for our belongings. The only chair in the room was worn and dirty—it had a stain of unknown origin on the seat and the material was covered in additional dirt. We were hesitant to touch it. We also found some hairs on the towels, which raised our concerns about cleanliness. When we returned from the city in the evening, we noticed an odor in the room despite having the window open. The next morning, I was woken up by a strong smell coming from the bathroom, likely from the drain. Since we were staying for only two nights, we didn't want to complicate our stay and decided not to address the smell.

The hotel is very central. We were accommodated on the 3rd floor with a view of the street. The view was pleasant and with the bed placed right by the window, I felt like a cat lounging in the window :) The bed was absolutely comfortable, with nice pillows and blankets. We also enjoyed breakfast very much, it was delicious! And the dining room was very cozy. I appreciated the friendly service and the option to leave our belongings for safekeeping after check-out. I was pleased that the room had the option to prepare tea or hot chocolate. We liked the design of the room.

Nothing springs to mind, only issue for some people may be that there is no lift.

The room was quite small however we only stayed one night so wasn't an issue. However, as the room we were in faced onto a road, we got woke up from 7am onwards with cars, vans, bins being emptied & roadworks or something along those lines with a lot of banging and clattering which was annoying. Obviously not the hotels fault but just something to note when staying here / in a city in general!

Lack of food options at night. No gym. A little pricey due to the fringe going on considering no pool or gym on the property. Rooms need a mini fridge.
