Overall it was a tired building with tired beds and a small ensuite bathroom. The towels seemed to be as old as the building. Surface of the ceiling was peeling off. It reminded us of a cheap London hotel we stayed in in the early 60s. Perfect setting for a black and white 1950s British comedy film.

Location was good with an excellent sea view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast kippers were superb.

Requested an extra pillow and was provided with something which resembled the stuffing from a 10 year old cushion. Bed side light did not work but was rectified . Had to put kettle on floor to gain access to plug. Tv was A4 size. Shower not very good.

The staff were in general good. Breakfast was very good.

lumpy pillows, well breakfast was somthing else first i pick up the cup it was stuck to the saucer when i got it free there was a hair inside the cup,The waitress was very good and returned with clean new cup As for the breakfast toast was good , but the black pudding (or what was supposed to pass as black pudding) was rank horrible in fact .

The decor was drab. Brown was the theme colour. All it needs (in my opinion) is lightened and freshened up. During the night, the water pipes were noisy

Property is showing it's age, that said it's been tough in hospitality for a long time even pre Covid. I think they do exceptionally well with what they have.

Staff super friendly, locals and regulars too. Local group of friends playing traditional tunes in the bar was great. The way I expect a good old seafront hotel to be. Owner very helpful with our poorly dog, great dog friendly place.

the hotel is really badly needing some investment to modernise it. its stuck in the 1960s. the furniture in the room really needs to be upcycled and made to look a bit more modern and brighter. the old carpet needs to be upgraded as it's threadbare in bits. I'm not a fan of having to decide my breakfast choice and time when I check in or later on in the evening for next day as I decide what I feel when I wake.

location of hotel is spectacular and breath-taking on a good day if u have a sea view room. staff were really helpful and let us check in earlier than allocated time. breakfast in the morning was cooked to perfection and very fresh.

The noise coming from the bar after 11pm was horrendous, bar manager & guest??, playing guitar & shouting singing till after 2 am, couldnt sleep as room right above it.

It's a good base for sightseeing, views from lounge & dinning room are fantastic, breakfast staff & housekeeping staff are lovely. .

The reception staff were dismissive both at check in and departure. We had to order our exact breakfast the night before. However the breakfast room staff were very pleasant. The hotel had an overall grubby appearance with a very very poor mattress.
