Very friendly and accommodating staff. Spa pool and spa treatment were very good. Had a meal in the glass house which was delicious. Location is spot on, near enough to have a walk next to the river into town. Would highly recommend this hotel. Third time I have stayed here.

The cooked breakfast could have been better. The receptionist was very polite but could have been a little more understanding towards our request for parking our Motorcycles out of sight from the main road.

The bar staff were excellent and went above and beyond to satisfy our group, very polite and pleasant. The room was very comfortable and clean. Claire the operations manager was very helpful and really wanted to make sure our group had been well catered for. The food in the Bar was excellent. Plenty of selection at breakfast both hot and cold food and drinks.

We didn't realise on booking that we had to pay extra for breakfast, but it was fine. My Danish friend was looking forward to a generous full English brekkie. The buffet had lots of choice, no rolls 'tho. Hot food had to be ordered, one of everything was plenty really, but she wanted two!

We had a ground floor room, which was perfect as I'd just hurt my knee. Peace & quiet, spacious room, lots of light, garden view, comfy bed = good sleep. Easy 15 min walk (hobble) along the river to town & various restaurants, or just fish and chips or an oggie by the river. We didn't have an evening meal but breakfast was good. The Spa looked lovely but we just didn't have time - hopefully next time. The real bonus was it wasn't haunted like the nearby Hand hotel 🤣

The room, the bed and bathroom all a little small. Too many emails before arrival ( about 10 or 11 I think). Only one part used toilet roll of very small, very cheap quality, most unusual.

Location good. Very friendly and efficient staff. Clean everywhere, and a good menu for our evening meals. Table service for breakfast mains, not buffet. Quiet and calm atmosphere. Tea, coffee and biscuit in the room.

Room smelled musty, toilet broken which was quickly fixed, hair dryer faulty. Pools of water on window sill, heating didn’t work although small electric heater did the job TV reception was poor and spoiled our viewing.

My only real concern relates to the breakfast service. The breakfast requires a booking slot, I was told due to the cooked elements being made to order from the menu and to effectively manage space. I'm fine with this but very few hotels impose this upon guests, instead affording them their choice of when to eat breakfast, while the hotels themselves take on the burden of managing people traffic, rather than passing that on to the customer by imposing the need to reserve a breakfast slot. Not necessarily a problem but could be addressed differently by the hotel. With regard to the breakfast itself, once again I have to question the hotel's choice of where (at whose feet) they place a burden - in this case the burden of food costs. The quality of the cooked breakfast was excellent. However, again in comparison to most hotels I've stayed at which offer a cooked breakfast, this one appeared to be strongly influenced by someone's (misguided) solution to saving on food supplies. It simply came over as though someone at the hotel had tried to assess what an average guest leaves on their plate vs what they placed on it to start with, then created an ordering system to ensure every guest gets the net of that comparison, and no more, so measured (single) were each of the breakfast components. Very tasty, yes. But some costs are part of running a hotel. You charge enough for the rooms and more again for breakfast. This is not a school. Hotel guests might have bigger eyes than their stomachs when they're having a break away at a spa hotel. And this might result in guests leaving food on their breakfast plates when they leave. That is their prerogative, not a hotel saving opportunity. Other things are opportunities. This is not. My suggestion: whether buffet or made to order, the cooked breakfast needs to be generous in a hotel like this. It's as simple as that.

The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and polite throughout my stay. I was welcomed straight away upon arrival and I observed on more than one occasion just how well the staff acknowledge and attend to everyone within seconds of them walking through the door. If one staff member was occupied another would step in to assist someone waiting. Excellent job. A rare luxury these days, so very well done there. During my stay I had one or two questions and the staff were always ready to help. The double room was a generous size and cleanliness was second to none. Another excellent job. I particularly liked the double bed - one of the most comfortable I've slept in - with enough plump pillows for a very cosy night's sleep! The shower in the bathroom was very large and included an overhead and handheld show-head. Together with the good quality shower gels and shampoo provided, I found this to be a welcome luxury in the room.

As with most hotels the pillows were not comfortable. Very ‘full’ probably sponge 🧽. Don’t like showers where need to step into the bath. Slippy and dangerous.

Even though the room was clean the toilet could have done with another clean.There was a mark on the mattress.We opted for room only but thought the breakfasts were expensive.Thought breakfast and the spa should have be included in the price.

We visited this hotel two years ago and returned this year.The lady on reception was very warm and welcoming and friendly.The room was lovely with a lovely view of the garden.The bed was comfy.The room was clean.The views are spectacular of the hills.Car parking is good.

Could've done with some small toothpaste in the bathroom. The food was flavourful but the beef was quite tough.

We had a hornet in the room. The staff were very good and moved us to another room at short notice! Breakfast was nice but a bit overcooked.

Lovely hotel with nice gardens. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a comfy bed and a nice bathroom with Elemis toiletries. Breakfast was nice.
