The check in computers took all our details then said it couldnt check us in and to go to the desk. The playroom staff and entertainment staff weren't really interested in the children, made no attempt to interact with our five year old (except one male "elf"in the evening) The situation at the pool was ridiculous... I booked for all three of us. On the day I chose not to swim but as counted in the numbers I'd booked was told I could go through to the pool and watch if i took off my shoes and socks. Great. Got poolside for the very young pool attendant to tell me I couldnt stand by the wall to watch as was wearing my clothes. I explained I'd booked a place and it shouldnt make a difference what i was wearing but she told me I couldnt stay. I offered to go and change into my bra and knickers (fully covering just like a bikini and probably would have passed for a bikini) to which she said "no it would be made of the wrong material ". (Honestly!!) I asked if she checked the material off all the swimwear people wear and she said yes ! (Laughable) Another mother and a set of grandparents had the same issue, the grandchildren aged 5 and 6 were told by the pool attendent they had to be in there alone and she would keep an eye on them! There was only her on duty, this was not safe! The wall at the head end of the top bunk had smears of godness knows what on the wall (probably bogeys, was gross) The cooked breakfast was very poor quality but server nice and continental food good.

The little treasure hunt in the room. The staff on reception. The theming. The playroom (mostly beacuse it was so quiet and free for our visit)

The staff member at check in was really rude, when asked where everything was she rolled her eyes for the price of the hotel you would want a decent welcome.. The room needs a good clean and some paint definitely wouldn't pay full price in the summer. We just used it as a base for laplanduk.

Legoland play room was amazing and a lovely little sensory room

Entertainment was bit poor . To girls either just played with lego or made animal balloons.

Love how child friendly it is. Grandson loves it . All lifts need key cards . Rooms are fantastic. They have ther own end .

Entrance area (parking and little road) seemed a bit underwhelming and scruffy

Great location. (We were off to lapland uk) Lovely brightly coloured themed hotel. We booked the Pirate rooms and they were brilliant fun. Well appointed and very clean. The children had a good time trying to work out the treasure chest hunt and screamed when they found their "treasure" Bricks restaurant very good .food tasty and fresh. Service was excellent!

I was so impressed by the hotel! We have never stayed there before but would definitely return. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The kids loved the bunkbeds, especially with the little lights on the bed its a fantastic idea as my daughter doesnt like falling asleep in the dark. We returned late and the staff members were very accommodating as we needed drinks and they opened the shop. Would highly recommend!!

    The food

Lovely rooms and play areas for children but the pool needs updating. The food served is also of poor choice and quality. Our order was wrong but we were compensated with two drinks. The food is also overpriced and below average.

From the arrival was poor. The reception staff were non informative about any times of entertainment , facility opening time, restaurant information etc. we had to ask everything. we had a pirates room was very basic , children had bunk bed s in a separate section of the room where they were simply freezing we had to move the mattresses to main part for them to sleep on the floor ! Carpets through out disgusting. Looks so tired. The restaurant was beyond basic food you were restricted to a three course only menu in the evening at £24.99 per child an more per adult no light bites or snack menu. Restaurant staff in evening more than slow. When you have travelled for 3 hours arriving late at night to the have to pay over £100 for a family of four to eat, at a Merlin branded an globally known brand this hotel was shocking. The swimming pool was horrible. Changing rooms where worse literally showering on the pool side. Hardly any changing room. Hugely hugely disappointed I am a platinum Merlin pass hold have been for years, thus was the worst place I have been under the group. Unfortunately would not recommend or stay again. Such a shame !

Literally the only think we liked was the newly refurbished playroom.

Lovely and clean hotel throughout, has so much to offer little ones even when the theme park is closed, Staff are welcoming and helpful. We would especially like to say a massive thank you to Jennifer at the restaurant. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The entertainment in the evening (which was the main reason we went!) Was appalling. They had a schedule of what would be on however this wasn't true and there were no performers or shows for little ones. My daughter is 3yrs old. We then went to bed as there was no entainment for her then at 8pm onwards we could hear entertainment as she was going to bed. Very disappointing. Also food in hotel expensive and not very tasty at all!!

The hotel was clean and staff very friendly.
