Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe owner/manager was a little distracted when we arrived as he was trying to fix one of the rooms that our party had booked and whose door was jammed. Our room was very warm and we could not alter this. The hot water was scalding and we struggled to get the balance correct for the shower, requiring us to resort to the bath. Some of the public areas were very tired.
The hotel is a character property that is in need of some investment. However, the room was spacious and comfortable with the window open. The breakfast was tasty and cooked to order. We were allowed to check in early which allowed us to change for the wedding we were attending that afternoon.

United Kingdomloved the hotel just needs a bit of love in some areas which is to be expected in such an old and interesting place. Better signage needed on the entrance. as turning off the busy main road can be difficult when arriving.
beautiful building and interior. The lounge was comfortable and relaxing with an open. fire going. Some areas were dated such as in restaurant and condensation in the room after use of the bathroom meant windows needed to be left open in the day, making the room cold. but overall, very happy we chose this hotel.

United KingdomRoom above room 7 has a squeeky floor and the occupants had a child/dog/both that required attention. Perhaps they were wearing lead boots ! The elevated Shower was a bit awkward. I like dogs but if your dog is an idiot around other dogs, yaps or barks, then don't take them down to the bar.
All was great. Hospitality, location, staff. Warm and welcoming. 20-30 mins from Snowdon car park and not far from LLundudno, the Zip lines and other areas of interest .

United KingdomOur bed was a bit too small, also the carpet in the room had multiple stains on it. We could not find any towels in the room either. Wasn’t the end of the world, but requires more attention when rooms are being prepared.
Beautiful building, welcoming and helpful staff, food was amazing and so was the service

United Kingdoma few areas need a little TLC, but this doesn't detract from the charm and warmth of the place.
beautiful old building, yes some parts could do with a bit of re-decoration..BUT...it is characterful, with an old glamour charm. The refurbished drawing room with the roaring open fire is stunning and a lovely place to have a pre and post dinner drinks. Loved the food, a really talented chef. had dinner both nights and the meat was perfectly cooked, it was delicious. We loved our room, the giant king bed was really comfortable. woke up to the sound of birds through the window. The staff are really wonderful, cheerful, chatty, really helpful, especially the lady that served our breakfast. Loved our stay in this quirky, atmospheric building and we will be back!

United KingdomHowever I know it's a dog friendly hotel, and that's ok.but dogs where allowed in the lounge where food was placed on a table, with dogs walking close to table. Please leave dogs in room while people are eating. Also shower in room was of low standard, we could not have a shower, head rest to low down, water scolding or to cold, but if they where to take jacuzzi out and put walk in shower in it would be fab.
David and the staff where so lovely, they made you feel very welcome The food was of a high standard. the entrance and lounge had Warm coal fires. Thank you for the mince pies David.

United KingdomThe beds were like sleeping on a wooden board, my back was aching by the morning. We also had the bedroom by the staircase which I could hear the male staff talking until gone 11pm and and I could hear then early in the morning so it wasn't the best night sleep.
