Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The house was nicely presented and very homely. It was well equipped with everything we needed for a short stay. It is easy to find and ideally placed for the shops and attractions of Cirencester and for walks in the countryside. The free parking right outside the front door was a bonus.

United KingdomThe only downside I would say is the stairs, which curve round so are thin on one side of the stair - not a problem really as long as you're sensible, and the children were fine on them - I however did fall down them (my own fault as I was looking at my phone whilst walking down the stairs). Just something to be mindful of if you have small children.
We had such a wonderful time staying here over New Years. We went with our son (aged 5) and our friends with their daughter (aged 7). The location of the house was fantastic, just a 5 minute walk into Cirencester which was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Anne was there when we arrived and welcomed us and was really friendly. The house was clean with all the amenities we needed and the supermarket was about an 8 minute walk to get to, so easy for us to pop and get some supplies when we arrived. It really was a lovely, relaxing weekend and so nice to be in the centre of the cotswolds, able to enjoy some lovely pubs and beautiful scenery! The beds were comfy too and the road was relatively quiet (just a couple of new years partiers passing in the early hours)

United KingdomUnfortunately my relatives came from different parts of the country in 2 cars so only 1 car could be parked on the property which we knew about in advance of course. In our case not a problem as I live in Cirencester and other car could be parked outside my property . Could be a problem for some people if have to park in car parks . Also not a problem for us but should point out that stairs could be a bit steep for people with mobility problems .
Location was excellent for the town. The cottage was very comfortable and owner had supplied tea, coffee etc. Which was a bonus. The PDF told us all we needed to know. Unfortunately I missed out the download on WiFi password and we contacted the owner who was very gracious. Owner also allowed us to check out an hour later when contacted which was very much appreciated by my older relatives.

ChileOur only issue was that there were no towels when we arrived and we didn't get them until the following day even though we were told we were going to have them that evening. The host did have a note in the instructions to bring your own towels, but when you are traveling from the US or South America as we were, bathroom towels is not something you pack in your luggage.
Beautiful cute little townhouse, walking distance from the main attractions. Free Parking. The kitchen had everything you need. Directions to get there and access to the keys were very easy. Loved the place.

United KingdomNot much - it's a great place to stay.
The owner was present when we arrived. Otherwise we were told where to find the keys. This property is in a great location - my only worry is that if I recommend it too highly - it won't be available when I need it !!

United KingdomThe single bed mattress,s were not on the beds squarely , my bottom bed sheet had lots of someone else's hair on it 😱. Could do with headboards too. Couldn't see anywhere in either bathroom to hang wet towels up. One plug socket in the kitchen very loose on the wall, needs attention for safety .
Very central location. Nice outside seating area.parking onsite . lovely to hear the church bells and birds song. Host was friendly.

United KingdomOur expectations were high but the properties were spoilt somewhat by small inconveniences such as dirty mugs, a missing hot tap in the kitchen, slipping floor mats and mouldy shower curtains. We found the bathrooms in need of updating. Attention to detail and some repairs and redecoration would have improved our experience.
The charming properties are in a quiet, convenient gated spot very close to the centre of Cirencester with good parking. They are furnished and decorated in a very homely fashion. We felt very welcome. I would guess that the owner is working to improve the properties and bring them up to a better standard.

United KingdomThere's a list. When we arrived they were oyster shells which we thought accounted for the smell when we opened the door left on the kitchen surface, luckily the owner arrived at this point and saw the mess and cleaned it up. The smell continued for the whole of our stay. It was also freezing in the house but the owner rectified this by sorting the heating out. There was dried on food on plates pans and spoons packed away in the cupboard I don't think the dishwasher was working properly. The plug sockets in the kitchen were loose and coming away from the wall. The iron had a black sticky mark on it. There was also a small leak in the bathroom by the toilet.
The location was good.

FranceThe mattresses were uncomfortable and have perhaps seen a little to much use. There was a wardrobe in one room but no clothes storage in the other two apart from a few hooks on the wall. The bathroom was dated and could do with modernising. The kitchen was grubby - mold on the refrigerator door seal, the freezer had not been defrosted recently. The microwave was smelly and dirty. The hot tap handle was broken off. Items of crockery and cutlery had not been cleaned properly.
The location and parking availibility were great.

United KingdomI did make the owner aware , the house didn't feel as clean as Reviews previously. The washing machine didn't work/ had no rinse aid. We found hairs in the bathroom, old contact lens case in the bedroom. Just felt grubby. I think we may have been unlucky as all other reviews for cleanliness very positive.
Perfect location, great we had parking and owner very lovely about us having 2 cars.
