The dining room was lacking soft furnishings so sound echoed.

Clean, bright, recently renovated hotel. The staff was cheerful and attentive. The bedroom had a tea and coffee tray and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. We stayed on the dinner bed and breakfast rate which was very reasonable. All fine for one night.

Not a case of what wasn’t liked, the food just needed a little finessing at dinner, breakfast was great. I never season my food when I eat out but ended up doing so on both evenings. would like to give 9.5/10 but that’s not possible on your rating options. Some people may be put off by the lack of a cancellation policy. We booked a room for 3 and we all fit in comfortably. However, the option of an extra bed was a chargeable service which doesn’t make sense as we booked a room for 3.

Beautiful grounds. property was very well maintained and clean in every area we ventured into. All the staff we spoke to were happy, polite and very helpful. Our bed was huge and large enough for my husband, toddler and I with space to spare.

Temperature in bedroom could only be adjusted by 3 degrees higher or lower. We wanted to switch it off. In hindsight we should have contacted reception.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent, dinner and breakfast. Service excellent. It was our wedding anniversary and we had been upgraded to a bigger room and a towel sculpture in the shape of a heart greeted us on arrival into the room. A nice touch.

Everything but especially the warm and attentive approach of Amy and her colleagues and the special decor in our room and a glass of prosecco with dinner as this was a belated celebration of our golden wedding postponed due to covid. What a great choice of venue it turned out to be at this lovely privately owned hotel in the picturesque Ribble Valley.

The only niggle I had was the toilet roll holder was next to my left ear so a little awkward to use.

We were in room 24 which I guess is in a new part of the complex (new roof tiles). The bathroom is brand new and spotlessly clean. The bed is a super king and very comfortable. Pillows are great. There was an iron and ironing board but I couldn't find a safe in the room. .

Golfers using the corridor outside our room accessing their changing rooms in the morning and mid afternoon spoiled the tranquil environment

We only stayed for one night but the service we received was exceptional from all staff. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. We booked afternoon tea on the wednesday for our friends and it was amazing. The chef and waitress both came to serve us with a full description of all the food. We were very happy, thank you all for a lovely stay.

Rooms need soundproofing. You can hear conversations. Sadly, other guests were not very considerate and held loud conversations throughout the night. You can also hear people when they are using the bathrooms, pumps are loud when you flush.

We stayed there for a celebration of life service being held at the event. It was annoying that the hotel offered early check in via a friendly message before the stay and when we replied to say we would be interested in this (as funeral started at 1pm) they then said it would be £25. Would have thought this could have been provided free given the circumstances of our stay. Food was good though at the event.
