The setting of the pub was really pretty. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The pub was quirky. We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening, the food was lovely. Lots of choice at breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

The only thing that I think could have been better was the bedding in my room was too hot on a warmish evening. A simple sheet covering option would been good as what was provided was too hot for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with you on Wednesday evening. I only wish I had more time to relax as I was working at Euridge Weddings not far from you. The young man at the bar was very helpful and took my order for a small cheese board which left for me in my room for me when I got back from work, it the eco pod - Moonbeam I think. Only snag no knife in room for said cheese. I loved the view of the green house and kitchen garden. I was able to have a starter from your lovely menu before leaving for work that evening which was delightful. It was the Dall and home-made flat bread which I really enjoyed, just what I wanted, and it came a couple of little home-made onion bhaji ‘s which I wasn’t expecting, all delicious, thank you kitchen team 😊 Breakfast was also delicious and what a lovely menu, cheery service as well, thank you all. The overall ambience of the Pear Tree was great, very relaxing, nice staff and customers alike.

It was quirky and charming. The staff were very accommodating and well trained, and the food was absolutely delicious. I would certainly attempt to repeat the experience, if I was travelling in the area.

We stayed in outside shepherds hut which was great and different but in poor weather was a little cramped for me. Fine for one night though.

Starkrimson Room was lovely. Well equipped bathroom - a shower and bath which is rare these days. Mattress a little soft for two people with bad backs. The room was a bit warm overnight despite the ability to open windows, but there was a fan which we didn't use. Limited wardrobe space but enough to cope. On one day when the inn wasn't busy during the day, I was able to sit in the gorgeous garden in the sunshine,, watch the butterflies and read uninterrupted for most to the day. Breakfast (included in our price) was great. Lots of choice. No restrictions on returns for extra coffee or juice. We chose to eat dinner in for ease and were very happy with the choice and quality. All lovely but an extra "big up" for the Barnsley chop and the steak - not forgetting the pear sorbet with crumble and honeycomb which I had three nights running. The service was a little slow at times but dinner times in particular were busy for the staff and all service was with a smile. Not the cheapest but I think it significantly outdid Rudloe Manor where we spent previous two nights.

The room was quite small and dark considering the price paid, but it was nicely situated in the cosy courtyard with handy seating just outside.

Friendly, welcoming staff; great place for solo guests travelling with their dog. Lovely, quiet location with good walks nearby, and the breakfast was delicious. Excellent shower.

The accommodation was good. The position of the TV in the room is very strange, which makes it almost impossible to watch, but it was not a big issue for us. The main improvement is needed in the staff training. We had two breakfasts and one dinner in the Pear Tree restaurant. The food was delicious but the staff was a disaster. Regardless if it was breakfast or dinner, if the restaurant was full or empty, the staff spend most of the time chit-chatting to each other, laughing and having a great time. Because of that the service was extremely slow, it took forever to order anything and the dirty plates were not being cleaned for a long time. We've seen at least 5 members of the staff during our 2 days stay, and all of them behaved exactly the same. We were a bit shocked that despite the bad service, the "the perfect service charge" was automatically added to our bill. (it was removed on our request later). This is a real shame, because the food is very good. We thought the place has a great potential and we would be giving it a 10 out of 10 if it was not for an unprofessional staff.

Beautiful old house surrounded by a large garden, spacious, clean room with double-aspect windows., comfortable bed. Very good food in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner.

Beautiful room in a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the decor and the location was stunning. We booked two rooms as we are a family of five and everyone slept well in their beds, it got a little warm but we opened the window and we’re fine. Dinner was really nice and so was breakfast. We would definitely stay again.

No mould above the bath

Beautiful hotel. Decor lovely. All the staff warm and welcoming. Breakfast and Dinner great. Our only concern , the mold in the bathroom . Wish we had such a great pub/restaurant close to us.

Struggling to think of anything we didn't like

A lovely traditional country pub surrounded by a beautiful country garden. Cosy pub and lovely beer garden.staff were very helpful and friendly. Great restaurant and really yummy breakfast. We stayed in a room just off the patio at the back of the pub amongst the lovely cottage garden. Very peaceful, and so comfy. And also love the Bramley toiletries in the room.

Such an absolutely delightful hidden gem. The staff were all happy and helpful and the restaurant had a lovely vibe with good food. Breakfast was fabulous.
