The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious but could do with better storage space, wardrobe especially. Would be inadequate for a longer stay. Breakfast selection excellent .

I know the weather is unusually hot at the moment, but for the prestige of the hotel and the price, I thunk it should have air conditioning in the bedrooms.

Good location for Hull and Beverley. Would definitely stay again, not in high heat though.

Double bed was two singles pushed together with a clear gap down the middle. The shower was EXTREMELY HOT or FREEZING COLD. It was difficult to find a medium between the two. The shower glass didnt keep in any of the shower water so it was basically flooding the bathroom floor. We bought the exect room but it was just a standard room, nothing special so im thinking what are the standard rooms like? The room was also a 10 min walk from the reception through 4 corridors. The tv barely got any signal what so ever. We got told the breakfast was later than what it was so we made it with 3 minutes to grab whatever scraps we could. Considering we paid for this my partner only had toast and a apple juice. I managed to get the last fried egg and some beans. Luckily the waiter was nice enough to get two fried eggs from the kitchen. They were drenched in oil but i ate them. Me and my partner barely slept but on check out we just wanted to go. When the receptionist said how we slept we just awkwardly said “ok” It was quiet but the bed was awful and the shower just dripped all night long no matter how we adjusted it. Some sort of refund would be appreciated. Not great for £127 for one night.

the hotel is now looking tired with stained hall carpets, very dated bathrooms and toilet that was difficult to flush!

free usage of the gym and pool is very good. breakfast was good. If renovated this hotel could be excellent.

Bathroom was a bit dated and the shower wasn’t very powerful at all when on hot, (nothing to put us off staying again though) and the rest of the hotel was lovely.

The staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. The grounds and garden at the hotel are lovely. defiantly make the hotel a lot better

The room is plenty big enough to include adequate storage but there is only a small hanging area with 6 coat hangers and no other hanging space and no drawer space at all. We stayed there during the 35+ degree temperatures and there was no air con in the room - a fan was provided but there are no plug sockets anywhere near the beds so it was useless at night. The music from a wedding kept us awake on the Saturday night despite our room being one of the rooms furthest from the wedding venue. And you can't shut the bedroom doors properly without slamming them - so the noise from slamming doors was disturbing too. Also the shower was puny. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice. The first time was pretty good but the second time was pretty bad - it took 70 minutes from when we arrived until we received our food (and I had to chase) and no staff even acknowledged us for 40 minutes after taking our order. We were in there for 1 hour and 45 minutes for 2 main courses and 1 dessert.

The room was a really good size and was clean. We used the swimming pool a lot. Although the breakfast was expensive, the choice and food quality was good. Almost all of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Facilities a bit lacking. No conditioner. Hairdryer not working. (When these were reported to the staff at check out they chose to disbelieve it!) Television a bit basic. Power points not conveniently placed in relation to bed.

We were really only there overnight (checked in at 9 pm) after a party. Nice space. Bed was comfortable. Shower was nice.

the noise from a wedding evening party. Guests being noisy in the early hours going to their rooms. someone trying to get into our room ( by mistake) the curtains were a little tightly strung so it was hard to keep the light out. The walk- in shower I requested was unsuitable as it was a high threshold and no bar to hold, the requested stool was not issued. unfortunately due to mobility issues I needed an adapted room but there wasn’t one available

The location was excellent, rooms a reasonable size . Very good and plentiful choice of breakfast items. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. several restaurants and pubs close by.c

Staff at the pool: I went down well before closing and was told it shut in 45 mins. That was ok, but as I was swimming I was told it closed in 20 minutes. Again I was told it closed in 10 mins . All a bit unnecessary, as I knew how long I had, and I felt hassled. Also when I asked the receptionist when the pool was open, I was told to look behind me at the times, instead of giving me a polite answer to the question

the weather was exceptionally hot - nothing the property had control over but the fan in my room was inadequate especially as the window would only open a small amount. There were only electrical sockets on the far side of the room to the bed so a) no possibility of moving the fan and b) no ability to charge a phone beside the bed - this is a pet hate of mine as most people now use phones as an wake up call and need to charge them overnight when I arrived the window was closed and the room smelt musty. the shower was over the bath and the bottom of the bath was unstable - it felt quite precarious standing to have a shower and my balance is good - it was actually quite dangerous the restaurant - I was in the restaurant for 20 minutes before I ordered my food and only then because I asked to order. 35 minutes after ordering I asked when my food would arrive - I’d been in the restaurant for over an hour before my food arrived. I’d ordered fish with seasonal greens and roasted root vegetables - when it was brought the server told me they didn’t have any root vegetables left and put down my food - hake on a bed of French beans - the seasonal greens ? French beans! I’m a very patient person and it was only at this point that I really complained. as I left the restaurant the manager did come to me and apologise saying that I wouldn’t be charged for my meal - it was still on the bill when I checked out so I had to complain again to get it removed. When I came down to breakfast the next morning I waited to halve checked in and the waitress was bordering on rude. having pointed to the table I was to sit at she said very quickly “it’s self service so just get on with it”! the buffet was sparse and we waited 5 minutes for eggs - only fried eggs were available - only white bread for toast - there were croissants but no no crumpets or bread rolls. the pool - the changing rooms have definitely seen better days - cramped and very warm.
