How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I couldn’t fault anything.
The host was amazing! And the b&b met every requirement you could ask for, it was clean, well equipped and breakfast was beautiful.

It was a little further from Bushmills than expected leaving quiet a long walk into town and back along a road.
Our room was nice and fresh and breakfast was lovely.

Friendly, beautiful spot, very clean.We sat at the outdoor area and enjoyed a lovely sky. It was quiet and relaxing.We walked into the village and back and had a lovely evening. Breakfast was good and it made a short break away very enjoyable.

Had an amazing holiday, excellent accommodation. I felt extremely well looked after and would love to stay here again. Breakfast was delicious too. Highly recommended

Breakfast only served until 9am, would be nice to have it until 10 at the weekends. Breakfast using locally sourced produce would also be a nice addition.
Very Comfortable room, good power shower and super clean. Good location for exploring the local attractions via car, Causeway coastal route etc. it’s £5 in a taxi to Bushmills or can walk in around 20 minutes.

the only minus is that we had a room above the dining room and we could hear voices from eight o'clock, but if you don't like sleep to long, no problem
The place is very beautiful, clean and food was gorgeous, the place is really wonderful and the city center is very close, 5 minutes by car

Was surprised the room wasn't serviced after the first night. I understand that this may not be economical for the accommodation, but it would have been nice to know. Also no shaver point in the room.

Nothing needs to be improved.
We had a family room with a bathroom that was huge with a table and tea-making facilities. The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. The home-cooked breakfasts were delicious and there was lots of choice for breakfast. Additionally, I fractured a bone in my foot on the second day there and the hosts immediately gave us a downstairs room, brought breakfast to us and checked if we needed anything. The location is perfect for exploring the Giant's Causeway and the Antrim coast and we will return to finish our trip.

There was nothing we didn't like. All was great!
We had a great stay at Rest a While! The room was immaculate, super clean & comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! We also appreciated that gluten-free options were available. Lastly, it was very kind of Gail, the owner, to find a dinner reservation for us on our nite of arrival. Highly recommend!

Not much storage, a chest of drawers would have been good. Also it would have been better with two bedside tables instead of one.
The rural setting and having a patio to sit on. The room was spacious,spotless and tastefully designed. Great breakfast too

Road noise is noticeable to us, during daylight hours, because we live in a quiet village. However, a good location for visiting the rugged Antrim coastline.
Gail was an excellent host, always looking to ensure We had all we needed. Super breakfast choice.
