Noise from rowdy passers by.

Location, room and facilities were very good, however our room being on the main street was very noisy late evening and early morning due to rowdy people passing by.

The bathroom is too dark - spotlights do not work! We had this room in our last visit and they did not work and we were told it was a fault! Too dark at night by far! No saucers for cups, only 1 teaspoon! Very noisy in corridor - was woken several times by other residents! Price charged was higher than when we booked! Staff made us feel they did not trust us paying by tracking us down the second we walked in and demanding payment!

The rooms are spacious, exceptionally clean and well furnished! Quirky and modern! Bed is exceptionally comfortable. Decor is tasteful.Gorgeous fresh, clean, soft and generous sized towels!!

Everything was lovely. The breakfast was a simple cereal box with milk or some snacks by the door as you check in. I was happy with this however and appreciated the oat milk late sachet. Nice touch for dairy free guests. The iron staircase up to the rooms are steep and could be slippery in icy weather.

This was comfortable and reasonably priced especially for a one night stay and great location for town. I stayed as a stop over pre airport but would happily base myself here for a few days walking with a nice town to spend the evening. The staff were positive and helpful. Fully intend to stay again.

Little surprised that payment was requested ahead of the stay. Need to sort out relationship with Booking.com

Despite the fact the restaurant was closed on both days and therefore no breakfast availability, the room was excellent - above expectation. Email Correspondence was clear and timely meaning entry and access to the rooms was easy despite absence of a formal checkin.

Wonderful sized room, spotless clean. Very quiet considering location. Very comfortable bed. All essentials provided, plus cereal for breakfast. Milk in communal fridge in hallway is a great idea. We absolutely loved it and can recommend it highly.

We stayed in room 4. The shower room was next to the food vent from the restaurant down stairs. The room Constantly smelt of cooking food. The bed was broken the base of the divan on left side huge dip because the base on the left side had no support. No blinds in shower room and clear glass shower next to the window.

Entry to hotel is at the back of the restaurant, difficult to find it. Instructions said to look out for Reubens food van, but there was a car parked in front of the van so couldn’t see it. Also had to go in through this entrance at night - very dark and felt quite scary as a single woman. Also patrons kept leaving the outside door open (should have been locked with key pad). As outside door was not closed this was again a worry about the security/ safety at night

It isn’t mentioned it’s up steep fire exit steel stairs at the back of the restaurant past bins and over a gravel path . Impossible in heels with a wheely suitcase. At night it was pitch black and did not feel safe.

Congleton is a town of weddings - so it was convenient for a wedding in Congleton .

Emailing room details to people on the move that do not have access to the internet is never going to work! Hence, guests in a state of confusion as to where and which rooms they were in. SMS messaging makes more sense. Also a receipt of payment would not go amiss

Food service in the restaurant and drink service Our room was taken by someone else, then when we phone we was told to try another door which was locked, they then had to ask the restaurant to find out room which was a completely different room and someone else had let them selves into our room so they changed the room, they didn’t let me know this, then the service at restaurant was awful bring out food out in containers thought we were having a take away, getting my partner a half pint even thought she asked for a pint, her burger order was wrong too, not very nice after a long journey due to and accident on the m62, we were looking for a nice rest and food but went to bed more miserable

The property was extremely dirty, considering both rooms booked were in the same state. The carpets were dirty, the bed was covered in dust, I don’t think the fans had even been cleaned and the shower was full of mould.

The noise from the street below was really loud and the room got really hot if you didn't open the windows but with the windows open you could not sleep - cars/motorcycles speeding down the road. It was Saturday night so people were out in the street shouting and singing till early morning
