Damp throughout, made clothes smell. Didnt want to sit on bed when dressed for the day as would smell. Could smell it all day once left the venue. Tv was very basic. Would benefit from updating. Outside was a mess when entering the stairway. Carpet was dirty on stairs, gave bad initial impression. 2 small pillows on a double bed. Needed more. No access to staff in mornings. No room service to replenish tea/coffee and no one to ask when looked. Had to buy milk next door. Didnt realise the food wasnt available. Was looking forward to a nice restaraunt meal.

No parking even though advertised as with parking. Poor quality bed and bedding. Thin walls, so you can hear the people in the next room cough etc. Check in was from 3pm, we arrived at 4pm and were left waiting for a long time before anyone was around to help us.

Location was good for the work. The couple when we checked in were very friendly. Signed the check in forms and told all good and paid up. had calls asking for payment from a Mobile number the following day?

Not a Hotel but Noisy rooms above a rough pub. “Music” from pub till One AM then loud conversations outside room. Next to busy road - no food available - suggested we have breakfast a burger joint next door (which was closed anyway). See photos - The following 2 nights we stayed at a comfortable town centre hotel of a national chain which was 39% cheaper. Ruby is very overpriced for what it offers ( I had erroneously thought when booking that at that price it must probably OK), I regret I would not stay there again at any price..

We stayed the first really cold night of the year. The room was freezing , the bed uncomfortable and felt damp. We slept fully dressed and still felt cold. A very uncomfortable night.

The room was very basic but that's what we wanted it was in a separate entrance to the pub , they left clear instructions on how you can get back into Brighton There was excellent communication from them before we arrived , overall a very pleasant visit

No cupboard to hang clothes up in, and coffee, milk and sugar supplies in the room were not replenished after our first day.

The staff I met were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable enough. Parking on the surrounding streets was easy and convenient, and the location was perfect for our purposes. Great breakfast in the cafe downstairs, and some good beers in the pub.

The bathroom sink pedestal was a cardboard box! The double bed was against the wall on one side so you have to crawl out the end during the night. Outside the window was the extraction system for the café which is noisy if the window is open and vibrates the sill and wall when in operation. Small room with no cupboard only a chest of draws and one bedside cabinet. A bright night light set in the ceiling over which someone had stuck a piece of paper which subdued it somewhat. The towels provided were hard and abrasive and the shampoo and shower gel consisted of a very small tube, one of each, for two people for two nights. The tea cups were cardboard and there was three provided . This was not replenished so no tea on the second day! Not a biscuit in sight! Room was also not made up. This was room 10.

Was covienent for concert in Stanmer Park and bus into Brighton

Room was clean and tidy, great shower. Nice roof top area to sit and enjoy the sun. The room was hot probably because the sun had been out all day, but a ceiling fan and window helped to cool it down. Bus stop opposite the pub with easy access into Brighton. A special thanks to Victoria who was so helpful and kind. Thank you.

As above, the whole place needed a complete over haul!! Paint work shabby, rubbish everywhere. Bed uncomfortable.

The Ruby needs updating, stair carpet needed replacement, decor poorly decorated, mattress needed replacement, back and yard needed tidying up, rubbish everywhere, French panels down. The staff were polite

We had the rooms booked as well as the function room for a hen do. The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful, really helped us plan a fantastic do for our bride! The rooms were clean, comfortable and perfect for us. would definitely stay here again!
