How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

What a gem of a place! Booked at the last minute, we were on our way home from a few days hiking in North Wales and needed somewhere to stay to break our journey. The flat is beautifully appointed, well equipped and has a sofa bed that gave me the best night's sleep I'd had all week! Llanfyllin was a revelation - a very pretty village with rather more there than one might expect. We shall be back, and hope to stay here again.

No problem with the accommodation but no-one in Llanfyllin apart from the Spar shop seems to provide breakfast before 10 am, although at 10 am the Workhouse served excellent breakfast at a good price.
Self-catered. Location was excellent. Parking at the weekend was excellent. Communications with the owners were excellent. The flat is exactly as described and lovely. Lots of little things like, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, tea, coffee were provided.

The flat is lovely, we love the town and visit often to visit family but hadnt stay here before, it had everything included from some toiletries, hairdryer and cleaning supplies...and there were games for the kids to play with on the evening which they thoroughly enjoyed. We were able to bring our dog too for a small fee of £5, and there were little notes dotted around to with useful information and of local places to eat and visit..the owners left a lovely note for our children as their uncle had plastered some of the house and sadly is no longer with us, which I think is a beautiful touch. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will definitely be back soon.

Cosy little apartment in a lovely town. I travelled for work and had everything I needed, a very clean place that's well equipped and a smooth wifi. I'm usually picky when it comes to cleanliness but I couldn't fault this place. Free car park, grocery shop are just literally 1 min walk away, and a good pub for dinner is even less than that. Key was super easy to collect. I'm thinking about returning with my partner to spend some days in the area which is beautiful to anyone who loves nature. It's on a high street so if someone is excessively sensitive to traffic noise until around 10pm and from around 6am, then ear plugs can be useful. I like quiet places and didn't really have to use mine.

Only issue was the noise from the road/ light from the road whilst on the sofa bed. Wasn’t a big problem and isn’t something that can be sorted really
