Lovely welcome on arrival. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were fortunate to have great weather so made full use of the little garden to watch the amazing amount of songbirds and woodpecker. Everything you needed was thought about and provided. Advice on the local area was forthcoming. Lovely woodland works from the door to the river. Very dog friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Siskin was a beautiful guest suite. So well appointed and spotlessly clean. Lovely to sit and watch the birds while having your morning cuppa. Gorgeous walks along the river spey through the forrest from the doorstep. Stunning surroundings loved every moment.

That I had to leave and go home

It was the cosiest, most comfortable little home away from home. It had everything I needed. Nature right outside, the quiet of a wee hideaway & access to all the activities Aviemore can offer. The suite has been finished to the highest standards and the hosts are great too. Perfect, peaceful getaway.

Siskin Guest Suite is very modern, exceptionally clean and quiet. Loved the radiant flooring and super fluffy towels. As other guests have noted, the location is remote as it's in the forest, but that is exactly what makes this place special and unique - you have hiking trails right outside the front door and don't need to drive to a trailhead.

The access track is passable with care with an ordinary car, but we weren't willing to do it after dark, so we had our main meal elsewhere during the day and just a snack in the evening (while waiting for badger to show up around dusk. The fridge motor was a little noisy in the bedroom.

Very quiet woodland setting. Visits from a badger and red squirrel. Spacious modern bathroom.. Comfortable bed. Picture window view from the room with a bird feeder in constant use by visiting birds. Outside sitting area looking into the woods. Considering the very small size.of the studio room, it was efficiently arranged with enough room for luggage, a little table and plastic chairs and a basic breakfast work area.

It is off the main road and the road to the property is very bumpy so wouldn’t recommend a low bodied vehicle.

Brilliant out of the way place to stay for a few nights! So peaceful and comfortable! The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Everything was of a high standard. Great shower room! So relaxing! Very close to lots of walking areas and water sports facilities! Close to Aviemore and Rothiemurcus facilities !

Booking need more specific about that the place is in Danalvert and no in Kingara. And maybe one specific map to get the place to check in.

A lot of things to breakfast and lot of good snacks. You can see the birds, wild cats, and beatiful badgers. The place is amazing.

Everything was perfect except the weather.

The guest suite was so clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a short break away. The hosts had thought of everything that was needed to be able to prepare and eat a meal without having to eat out. ie. microwave, crockery, cutlery etc. The hosts had also left a selection of cereals and porridge pots, milk and fruit juice, tea and coffee to enable us to have breakfast each day.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. The hosts had thought of everything.

Such a special secluded location. Breakfast was supplied. We could sit at the table eating breakfast watching the red squirrels, woodpeckers and so many different birds. Loved sketching at the breakfast table. Really quiet and very comfy bed. Great shower. Everything we could need was supplied. Gordon and Dulcie were so helpful recommending where to eat and swim.

Not much to put down here.

Fantastic location, quiet and away from noise in the middle of the forest. Still a good location though, not far from Aviemore and the other small towns nearby where there is so much to keep you busy. But you mainly go there for the natural beauty of the area! Comfortable room setup and the hosts are fantastic and accommodating.

Modern, clean and well equipped. Being able to use microwave and toaster, and to be able to eat inside or in the garden was really convenient for when we didn’t feel like going out. Great base for cycling the very scenic routes in the forests and glens nearby.

Completely out of the way, if this is something you dont like then dont bother going.. It was perfect for us, it was like it wasnt there.. Rural and beautiful... Perfect for a short break, either on your own or as a couple.

The location is awesome, near several hiking trails. We found the lodge easily with the explanations ! The lodge is perfectly clean with well equipped.

This is our second stay here, we still have not found anything not to like.

Completed to a very high standard, exceptionally clean and a great location. The property may only sleep 2, but it is very well set out and well equipped. Enjoyed sitting in the private courtyard watching all the different birds on the bird feeders.

Everything about our stay at Siskin was incredible. Gordon and Dulcie are the perfect hosts. The room is beautiful and every little detail has been carefully thought through. Beautiful private patio, big comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom, large fluffy towels, a great selection of breakfast items. We really didn't want to leave.

A beautifully presented property in an amazing location. Although attached to the owner’s house it feels very private and secluded. The patio looking on to woodland and bird feeders is a wonderful place to be.
