Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only negative to our stay was that the poor weather meant we couldn’t sit outside in the evening, and there’s absolutely nothing that Samantha & Declan could have done about that! Everything else was lovely!
The secluded nature of the hut helped make it feel like a real treat- even if just staying 1 night! It was exceptionally clean and well stocked, the bed was comfortable and the bbq and hot tub were well maintained and ready to use. We had a lovely warm welcome from Samantha & Declan who showed us to our hut and gave us a tour of how everything worked. We would definitely return for another visit!

United KingdomNothing negative about this place!
What a special place. We've stayed in a few shepherd's huts and this was undoubtedly the best so far. The huts are set in the grounds of a beautiful estate with free range sheep and chickens running close by. The huts themselves are every bit as stunning as the photos portray, secluded in beautiful settings, fully equipped and a good distance from each other to give guests their privacy. The hot tub was amazing; everything's been done so well here. Whilst there is no wifi, we both managed to get good signals on our phones. I imagine it was mentioned somewhere but I obviously didn't take note - You park your vehicle by the main house and walk to where the huts are located, I guess this maybe took 5-10mins depending on how quick you are. A pull-along cart is provided for you to take your belongings. Do NOT let this put you off; it actually adds to the experience as it's a lovely gentle stroll past ponds and gardens, and all on a flat surface. Samantha & Declan's gorgeous Labrador may even accompany you if you promise to throw her ball along the way!

United KingdomI didn't like having to leave... We could have stayed there longer!! :)
The hosts/owner's were so friendly and helpful! Great communication from the moment I booked. It was a suprise for my partner's 50th Birthday, and they were so sweet and organised a baloon for her. They helped us get our bags to the hut, and were such a lovely couple, putting us at ease straight away! The Shepherds hut was so clean and tidy, and the finishes were second to none! They really have thought of every tiny detail, such as kitchen utensils, shower toiletries, pics and info hanging on walls, pizza oven, fire lighters, a place to hang a towel after using the outside hot tub area. We were not disturbed once, making it a really romantic and peaceful break! Really impressive, and the most stunning location!

United KingdomThis luxury hut has everything you need - hot shower, toilet, all the kitchenware. Fresh milk and eggs were waiting for us on our arrival. A wood fired hot tub in the night was a magical experience. This was our first stay in a Shepherds hut-type of place and we definitely chose the right one. The hut is located on beautiful land where sheep and chicken roam freely. Every morning we could hear nature awakening - was perfect for the easter weekend. The location was also perfect to explore the nearby seaside. We went to Lyme Regis and Charmounth beaches, which was about 30 min drive. Wayford Woods was a nice forest walk nearby too. Declan and Samantha were very nice and welcoming. If you need a quiet, calming break to unite with nature - this is the place to go.

United KingdomNothing!
We enjoyed everything! By far the best shepherds hut we have stayed in. The hut itself was very cosy and the indoor fire made it even better. It is in a very quiet area and you can walk around the large countryside surroundings while looking at the sheep and chickens. The outdoor bath was amazing with the settings of the bushes and flowers making it very private. The hut also included an outside pizza oven and outside fire. We would definitely come here again!

United KingdomNothing.
Everything. The location is just perfect; so secluded, tranquil and private, surrounded by nature. The hut itself is stunning, comfy, incredibly clean and stocked will everything you need (including eggs and milk!). The outdoor bath was amazing, it was pre-heated very kindly by Samantha and Declan for when we arrived and it’s in the most stunning and private setting, surrounded by bushes and trees. Samantha and Declan even very kindly left us a balloon and a bottle of fizz as we were visiting for our mini-moon and all throughout our stay were so hospitable, lovely to talk to and kind. We’ve recommended this shepherds hut to just about everyone we know and we will definitely be back! We loved every second of it.

United KingdomThere was nothing.
We stayed only one night, but could have stayed longer and would definitely return. The shepherds hut was splendid; top quality and everything considered. The hosts were very attentive prior to the stay answering any questions promptly, and very welcoming on arrival. The location is stunning with the hut set in a woodland with only the sheep and chickens for neighbours. The facilities are wonderful with wood fired hot tub, pizza oven and fire pit/barbecue. The attention to detail was fantastic. Both my Mum and I strongly recommend a stay here, especially if you want to relax and unwind. The eggs and milk were a lovely touch.

United KingdomIf you need supplies for food / drink, there's a nearby shop, but it closes at 5pm, then the nearest after that is 15-20 min drive, so just make sure you arrive with the supplies you need.
Stunning surroundings, the hot tub is especially gorgeous. Samantha and Declan the hosts were so lovely and friendly. There's sheep and chickens roaming around nearby and really add to how special the place is.
