Lovley relaxed atmosphere we felt really at home, we were very happy with our room very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable all the staff were really friendly. The evening meal was very tasty as was breakfast would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast was first class. Beautifully cooked obviously using local produce. We had an early start and that was no problem. Nothing was too much trouble

The only thing I would like to improve would be Gluten Free bread- I realise that you may not have a celiac every day, but there are better gf breads available. You can also get decent GF pastries.

Amazing setting. Although we visited in March, there was evidence of a well-kept garden with essential pruning and cutting back in progress. The evening menu was interesting and all effort taken to accommodate my need for GF. The food was exceptional and at £30 for 2 courses great value. Full Scottish breakfast was huge - the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon tasty. Our room was warm and clean. The bed large and very comfortable. Our bathroom was across from the room, and there was a privacy screen to go across the hallway .The bath was so deep and the water hot. We hope to visit again next time we are on route north.

That we couldn’t due to time restrictions stay longer and look around the grounds. It’s beautiful, there’s nothing not to like!

There was nothing we didn't like.

On arrival, which was much later than anticipated, we were very warmly welcomed. we were asked if we would like an evening meal but after looking at the menu we asked if there could be some amendments made due to dietry requirements. The chef came out to talk to us and he couldn't have been more helpful with the result that we had an absolutely excellent meal. All the meals for the rest of the stay were of an equally high standard. A great deal of work has been carried out at this magnificent hotel such that it is a beautiful, pleasant and relaxed place to stay. The bedroom we had was very spacious and beautiful with a similarly large and comfortable bed. Likewise the rest of the hotel had large rooms with many interesting features. We certainly couldn't fault the staff as they were extremely helpful and nothing was too much bother for them. The grounds that the hotel sits in were lovely and we are sure that in the summer they would be very colourful. Both the hotel and the grounds are very relaxing and you are able to go for quite long and pleasant walks in them.

Arriving in the dark... Would have been much nicer to arrive in daylight to appreciate the full splendour of the mansion house as you drive up the long approach to it.

The beautiful old mansion house, decorated really well. Was like stepping back in time. Although it's huge the lounge with coal fire was cosy as was the room.

How grand the building is and how natural the view is beyond the grounds. The bed was perfectly comfortable. Four poster bed was novel. Amazing shower, great pressure.
