Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt should be advertised as a B&B, and not a hotel. The outer cabins are perfect accommodations for a couple.

United KingdomA gorgeous building with stunning views across the loch, and mountains as far as the eye can see. Amazing hosts to help with local recommendations for food and sight seeing. The local town is just a short walk away with nice cafes and a decent size supermarket. Room was exquisite with the most comfortable bed and the bathtub was like something from a dream! The nicest place we’ve stayed in the highlands by far.

United StatesWhat’s not to love here!
We can’t say enough good things about St. John’s rectory/Aos Si cottages! Definitely recommend for a couples are gonna stay in “The Glen”. We stayed in the main house upstairs with an unbelievable view of the lake. The room did not have a TV or fridge, but we knew that going in. Downstairs there is a dining room with piano, books and games. Across the hall is a living room/sitting room with a fireplace they will start for you. Janice could not be more welcoming or helpful during our stay. Highly recommend! Note for Navigation: Search “AOS Si cottages” not “St John’s Rectory” in Google Maps/Waze

Netherlandswe stayed 2 nights in the old rectory in Glencoe. the accommodation is located directly on the main road with a beautiful view over the water and is also quite easy to find. use Aos si Losges in your navigation as an address for the location. we were received very hospitably with an explanation of the facilities. breakfast is possible but we had not chosen to do that. There are enough restaurants within a radius of 5 minutes and a supermarket with a wide range if you want to be flexible with the food. The room was as expected. a large room with a beautiful old bed that slept wonderfully, and a very clean and nice bathroom. afterwards we found a two days stay for Glencoe and the Rectory too short. we would have liked to stay longer. we definitely recommend this location to stay in glencoe

United StatesWe knew there wasn’t breakfast provided if we booked through Booking.com so can’t comment on that. It’s a tub with a handheld shower spray which we knew and it worked fine. This doesn’t have all of the luxuries of other hotels but it’s the quirky, quaint and historic aspect of this that’s the appeal. I wish more history of the place had been provided.
The historic aspect and location. The bed frame was amazing. The bath was lovely and the heated floor was so nice. It was quiet and easy to come and go. The towels were thick and large. The windows open so it was easy to cool the room and also easy to heat the room with the radiator. They had hangers and a rod to hang clothes as well as places to store shoes. Water, tea and coffee (not instant) were provided. A kettle and French press were provided too along with some tasty cookies. The location is perfect for hiking around the Three Sisters and going to the Visitors Center. It’s not a far drive from Ft William and Ben Nevis either. There’s a Coop down the road for getting snacks. The view of our loch from our window was breathtaking.

United StatesWe did not have breakfast but they offered. The place was hard to find but eventually we re-read their message and found it easily. We arrived after dark so we couldn't really appreciate the grounds yet they were lovely in the morning. Coffee and tea in the room was great - many places provide instant coffee but they had brewed coffee in a French Press = very nice!

United StatesThe staff was so kind, attentive, and welcoming. I got in a bit late and they were understanding and even offered to do free laundry for me because I had just completed a race and had lots of muddy clothing. They even started drawing a bath for me! I can emphasize enough how kind they were! The rooms were clean and had several amenities like tea, robes, and beauty products. Perfect place to rest with a beautiful building in a beautiful place

United StatesTough to say what could have been better. I don’t typically take baths, so I suppose a shower would have been nice to use. That being said, my bath was enjoyable!
We really enjoyed the room quality. It was very spacious and comfortable. The building is located next to a trail system for endless miles of hiking adventure.

New ZealandLoved Janice’s place, we were comfortable and Janice was very helpful with local suggestions for places to eat. Room was a delight, the tartan carpet and overlooking the sea, beautiful. Bathroom was quirky with a bath and a shower head, so not your usual shower over the bath. Great location for everything we wanted to do in the area and a short walk to a delightful restaurant, we recommend it.

FranceFacts 1- Booking address takes you to a junkyard Look for owner s notification. 2- I booked 2 rooms. One had the bathroom outside in the public area. 3- Breakfast is at the leasure of the owner Don’t expect any hot or cold before 0830AM. 4-Total rate of 560 euros for all the above. Not need to say terrible value for money.
Hard to say.
