How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Lovely room with everything you need for a long weekend away. Not far from the centre (20 min walk), so perfect for a quiet night after a lovely day exploring Edinburgh. Clean, staff 24/7, and you can store your bags before check in and after check out times so no need of carrying them around.

The room is satisfied enough and we love it.the staff was great and helpful! Just the parking access to the building 7 is a bit crowded with linen mattress and birds poop.

Fantastic apartment, great location. Perfect with kids. Clean and stylish. Only down falls was there was no hot water for showers both mornings and the pull out bed was 2 singles rather than a double x

The shower was broken on day 1 and there was no bin in the kitchen. Also there was no instruction on how to turn on the heat. It was fixed after we reported it. There was alittle bit of negativity from one staff member but maybe he was having a bad evening.
The apt was really well equipped. Very close to Grassmarket, Edinburgh. You could walk to Grassmarket. Most of the staff was very helpful. It is in a quiet neighborhood and close to good restaurants and cafes.

The thermostat wasn't functional and despite being down low and the radiators turned off, the room was still quite warm which meant windows had to be left open.
The staff were friendly, the apartment was clean and tidy and generally very similar to the pictures.

It would be helpful if a note was left saying where to find the bedding for the sofa bed - I had to open all the cupboards and drawers to find it! I did find it though!
The apartment was very clean and had everything you needed. The sofa bed was really good - one of the most solid and comfortable I've slept on. The location is pretty good - about a 35 minute walk from Princes Street or a 10 minute walk to where you can hop on a bus or tram. Check in was efficient. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these apartments and would definitely stay again.

The bed was hard as rock, we would have been better off sleeping on the rock at Edinburgh castle than the bed inside the apartment. Didn’t get any sleep at all.
The apartments were really close by to both old and new town. Great to have parking as well and the apartment had everything we needed and was quite spacious.

It had absolutely everything we needed. The kitchen was well appointed, and the bathroom was great. The little downside was that the sofa bed is actually 2 x singles, not a double, as there is a huge gap in the middle. Staff was helpful and lovely. Great value for money, would stay there again when in Edinburgh.

The location was perfect for us, close to most of the things we wanted to do, otherwise close to transport services like tram and bus. There could have been a mat in the bathtub for safety. And a hand shower, but just preferences. The spacious apartment was in accordance to all our needs: beds were comfortable (the bed in the sofa was a little uncomfortable, though). Perfect with a separate bed in the livingroom (the sofa). Everything was neat and clean. Perfect place to stay at when travelling with a teenager who wanted privacy.
