Luxurious and warm and welcoming. Gail is a fantastic and kind and understanding host. Exceptional and comfortable bed, room and bathroom, great facilities to relax, and a delicious breakfast cooked by Gail. Breakfast looking across the Pentland Firth to the Orkneys…nice. One of the best places I’ve stayed - totally unexpected and what a treat!

The room was outstanding and we also had the use of the entire floor with a sitting area and TV, as well as one in the bedroom. Our host, Gail could not have done more for us. Breakfast was excellent. There was also a mini fridge with fresh milk for tea/coffee and a supply of sweet treats included. The property was easy to find and convenient for an overnight stay prior to getting the ferry to Orkney. Gail is the host that everyone should aspire to be like!

I had to leave!

Everything! The host was extremely lovely and nothing seemed too much trouble. Complimentary drink given, probably the largest gin I've ever had. No other guests booked in so had entire upper floor to ourselves. Beautiful property, very large room and extremely comfy bed.

What an amazing stay; we were bowled over by it all. The accommodation was outstanding. Gail, the host, has two rooms on offer but had only let one the night we were there, so we had the whole upstairs lounge area to ourselves. The rooms were spotless, tastefully decorated, bright and warm, and we didn't want to leave the next day! We were offered drinks on arrival, including wine! There were bathrobes in the wardrobe, and sweets out in the living room. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom of a high standard of fittings and cleanliness. The nearby lighthouse shining its light during the night could be seen from the bedroom, but was far enough away not to stop us from sleeping. However, definitely worth a peep behind the curtains to see! Gail was the loveliest host you could imagine and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making us so welcome.
