Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel is gorgeous, in the perfect place for local amenities. This is what convinced us to stay in the first place, however, the building could use some maintenance. Drafty rooms, dust and cobwebs in almost all corners, ripped towels and previous guests toiletries. We travelled as two couples staying on the third floor, both rooms were freezing cold even after we blocked as many holes as we could with towels, even using them as draft excluders for the doors. Heaters are provided, however they barely make a dent when tackling the seeping frigid air that was determined to find its way into the rooms. We stayed one night and spent barely any time in the rooms, using them only for sleeping. On another note, the staff on reception and maintenance were lovely, they addressed an issue we had with our families other room (a maintenance hatch left open that led onto the roof from their rooms window alcove). They were a delight to speak with, approachable, friendly and understanding. Prices were a little steep for food (we all work in the hospitality industry, many of us in hotels) even by the standards we are used to in Glasgow City Centre, which led to us eating elsewhere. Bonus: Warm showers, plenty of toiletries provided (shampoo and soap) even if the water pressure was rather poor. We would stay again, only for the kindness of the staff and the convenience. However maybe bring extra layers and a spare blanket for the rooms, those drafts are no joke.

United KingdomThe hotel is in a good location, in town centre and only a short walk from the ferry. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. There is a lift in the property, only problem was I had to climb up a set of steps to access the reception. I was informed that there is a side door to gain access to the ground floor, but I would have to have phoned in advance to make the hotel aware of my arrival. I booked a single room which I found to be a bit cramped, but for the price I paid for the room I couldn't really complain too much

United KingdomDecor was outdated and hotel could do with major refurbishment. Bedroom was ok although the wall heater was not working so they had to bring up small electric heater to place on floor. Phoned reception and they came to room within 5 mins and were very apologetic. Things like some of the light bulbs in room were not checked to see if working and was missing light at one side of the bed. Cracked tiles on bathroom floor and everything was just a bit shabby and needed updated. Bed sheets and duvets were spotless and nice white fluffy towels. Although decor was not great it was very clean.
Good location, staff were nice and friendly, did not eat there as had other arrangements but both restaurants looked nice and good choice of food. Hotel was clean and nice touches like toiletries. Good view from window of waterfront from bedroom window. Hotel did have a pleasant atmosphere.

United KingdomThe hotel is a great location but completely ruined by the noise in the street till 3 am coming from the takeaway adjacent to the hotel. Screaming women, drunks in the street, spoiled our sleep. Older male server in restaurant very disgruntled and apathetic. Room brochure stated that breakfast was £9.95, when in fact we were charged £12.75 each.
I liked the communal areas and toilets.

United KingdomAs said, the hot water was not hot and as I suffer from the cold it kinda put a downer on my stay...
Nice enough room which was clean and well presented. Staff brilliant especially "sudsie" the pot washer who was a load of fun and John at reception who also was a laugh a minute.. I hate stuffed penguin types of staff and these guys made my day. If I have one small problem it's the water temp..... Ran a bath but it was only tepid. Shower in morning also a tad chilly. Food good and quick and efficient service. All in all we enjoyed our stay here.
