We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomWe had a wonderful mid-week one night stay at this quaint place. Beautiful cosy bedroom with lovely sized shower and huge bath. The bed was very comfortable, and although our room was situated road side and we could hear the road traffic this died down around 10pm. We celebrated our 25th anniversary in the restaurant by having a full 3 course meal in the restaurant, which has a lovely ambience. Food was a bit pricey, not your usual pub fare, but really excellent ! The Wooky Hole Cheddar Souffle for starters was light and tasty. We both had the Walter Rose Sirloin steaks for mains which was cooked to perfection and very tender. I recommed the garlic butter for these. This was topped with a decadent desert of Ameretto Choclate mouse and raspberry sorbet to cut the sweetness and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding with fluffy caramel creme. Truly a treat.

Staff were very attentive, food was delicious, and the room was nice. Very much enjoyed the hot tub, which was basic, but did the job. Just what we needed for our stay.

United KingdomRoom actually on the road that runs alongside the pub so noisy if you opened the window. Country road but runs into Newbury and is a fast one.
Beautiful pub/hotel out in the countryside. Excellent food and very helpful, friendly staff. Room was on the "cozy" side but no less comfortable for that and there was a great view across open fields. Staff had no hesitation in getting hold of a fan for us as we were there on one of the hottest days of the year.

The room with Jacuzzi was great as was the bed. We eat in the restaurant and the meal was excellent, impossible to fault, some of the best cooked lamb we have ever had anywhere.

United KingdomNothing major, just little niggles really. No hangers, so end up leaving clothes in room making it look untidy. No shelf by the bath for toiletries. Stair carpet needs a bit of a clean. Didn’t worry us too much but road gets pretty busy by about 6ish, so might disturb others. Think only a few rooms are on the road though. Positives easily outweigh the negatives.
Really enjoyed our stay here. Room was really well appointed spacious and airy. Bathroom lovely with s shower big enough for a whole football team (well 5 a-side) Staff were really attentive and helpful. Breakfast waiter worked his socks off and kept on top of the dining room really well. Apparently in 2021 they won an award for their breakfast. Not at all surprising, it was exceptional.

United KingdomThe evening staff that served dinner were inattentive and as I wasn't a regular they were less than interested bordering on rude. They gave me a extra side dish that I assumed at the time was part of the main meal until I was charged for it. After asking if I wanted desert I waited nearly 20 mins whilst they chatted to regulars and walked back and forwards past me totally ignoring me until I asked if I could order then it looked to much like hard work. Worst of all and what I really hate is they automatically put service charge on the bill which I know you can ask to be taken off but it puts the customer in an awkward position. The automatic service charge and the dinner staffs poor service and the way they looked down there nose at me and their ignorance is the reason why I wont be staying here again or recommending it.
A Lovely pub in a good location the afternoon staff that welcomed me were great and the morning staff that checked me out were very friendly. The room was really nice looking very clean and comfortable the bottled water was a nice touch
