How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Delightful and stylish room - well-equipped with numerous complimentary drinks and treats. Very generous breakfast and really friendly staff. Superbly located - absolutely in the heart of Sherborne.

The staff were amazing & attentive. The breakfast was beautifully seasoned.... someone knew what they were doing! I've never had a breakfast where each component was delicious & it was piping hot:) The bedroom was perfect for our needs and the bed really comfortable! it was even cleaned & bed made really quickly it felt like a Stealth cleaning ninja or a cleaning fairy had miraculously done their job as we weren't gone long ! All in all a fabulous stay & would highly recommend Thanks everyone ☺️

The location was spot on as it was in the centre of the town just by the Abbey. The room was super with a dressing room alongside the bedroom. We also received complimentary fruit, cold drinks and chocolates in addition to coffee and tea making facilities. The breakfast was superb as was our meal when we dined there in the evening.

All good.
Lovely pub with very friendly and relaxed staff. The room had everything necessary with some nice touches and we felt welcome. The breakfast was well cooked and again staff were excellent.

Fantastic cooked breakfast, generous, and good quality. Nice touches in the room, chocolates, real milk for the tea, Alexa device, attractive furnishings. Some reviews mentioned church bells ringing every 15 minutes, keeping them awake....I didn't hear them at all.

No parking next to the hotel. Street Parking on single yellows from 6pm until 9-30am. Alternative pay parking 300yards away.
Great room very comfortable bed, nice cotton sheets, some extras, fresh fruit,soft drinks,crisps, Bramley toiletries. Breakfast was excellent. Good choice. Good service

Fantastic place to stay. The room was spacious with everything you need, made to feel like staying with friends rather than in a hotel. The staff always went above & beyond, and were so helpful with recommendations for things to do or places to go. Whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink, the Cross Keys is a must visit or stay if in Sherborne. A big thank you to Mo and his team.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, taking time to stop and talk and offer local knowledge. The location was excellent, it’s only a small town but Cross Keys is right at the heart of it.

Nit picking really but it would have been nice to have a dressing gown. The tea in the room was rather strange. It would have been nice to have fruit salad offered at breakfast.
The room was stylish. The bathroom was very clean. There was a fridge in the room with fresh milk. Fruit and crisps were provided. The location couldn’t have been better in the small market square. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was very good. Excellent coffee. The weather was very hot but a fan was provided.

Our room was nicely decorated, really clean and mostly very comfortable. The only tiny comment I would make is that the pillows were hard!
A really nice stay in the middle of beautiful Sherborne. The owner was a genuinely friendly and concerned host who made us feel very welcome. We only ate breakfast at the Cross Keys but it was good and all the young serving staff were great.

No private parking and Sherborne is a parking nightmare town, but we did know this when we booked.
Very nice hotel , helpful staff, good breakfast and the bonus of FRESH milk in the room. decent size towels too. Odd to have no room number on the door as we both nearly went into somebody else's room!

Not a great selection of breakfast options, with no fruit or cereal which a little disappointing if you wanted something lighter. Not much open in the area on Sunday evening other than the local pub and an Italian (which was very good however!). A few little cleanliness issues in the room but nothing major.
Friendly staff, kindly let me in the room early as husband was there on work. Nice bright room with a nice view of the pretty town centre, good location for central Sherborne. Good WIFI access and selection of coffees, milk and drink in the room, Really nice bathroom with a lovely big shower!
